I walked to the empty table at the back of the hall. The fun of having to eat lunch in the hall with others. I looked at my plate to check what I had for lunch. Some brown and green mush. Delicious. What are diner ladies thinking when they sign up for these jobs? I cant cook so I'm going to go and give salmonella to some poor school child? I sat down and started eating whatever its meant to be when someone came and sat opposite me. I looked up to see who it was. Chris. What did he think he was doing? I knew he was new but Harry had already told him not to mix with me.
"It is alright for me to sit here isn't it?" hes asked, I realized I had been staring, I nodded.
"Get up now!" a voice said behind me. I knew who it was, but i didn't move. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder. It twisted and pulled me up.
"Hi Daren." I said to the guy that had just pulled me up out of my seat. I had been in Daren's class since reception. Never been able to get away from him. I struggled to get out of his grasp. his grip tightened. The collar on my shirt started to bind around my neck tighter then ever. I couldn't breath. My heartbeat rising again. Not now. Not in public. I said to myself. I started to panic. I tried to twist to see if I could see someone, anyone, that would help me.
"That's not the way to talk to a lady." I heard Chris voice say. Daren put me down. I fell onto the floor. I pulled myself up on to the chair struggling to breathe. I could hear the whispers surrounding me, I was thinking exactly the same thing. What the hell does he think he is doing?
