the lyrics broke my heart so i wrote a story to deal with my feelings

He'll remember.

Jungwoo kept telling himself. He brought his coffee cup to his lips, taking a sip of the bitter liquid. To be honest, he hated the taste of coffee. Though he drank it for its caffeinated features, it also brought him a pleasant memory.

Back when they were freshmen in college, Jungwoo use to make his boyfriend a cup of coffee each morning, since Lucas couldn't wake up early enough to do it himself. Jungwoo had no problem with it, he enjoyed it actually, and made it a critical part of his morning routine.

After making the coffee, which consisted of adding two sugar packets and a large amount of creamer, Jungwoo would leave it on Lucas' desk before getting ready for the day.

When he came back, he would find the Chinese male sitting up in his bed, sipping the coffee. The cup looked so small in his large hands, his bed hair messy and falling over his eyes.

"Thank you baby." he said, his deep voice extra raspy because he had just woken up.

A satisfied feeling always filled Jungwoo at that moment.

But now, being a senior in college, the male was drinking his own coffee, and stressed out to no end. He didn't have spare time in the mornings anymore, nor did he have the energy to wake up as early as he use to.

It saddened Jungwoo, but that wasn't even the worst part.

Lucas wasn't there in the mornings anymore, he would leave before his boyfriend woke up. Jungwoo couldn't even greet him a daily 'good morning' in person, or share cuddles and kisses before they went off to class.

Lucas came back in the evening time, but would only eat and do whatever in isolation. He'd make promises to Jungwoo, saying he'll take them out to dinner or they'll have a cuddle session tonight. But those promises were never fulfilled.

It hurt. Especially today.

Because today was their anniversary.

And he didn't receive a text or call from Lucas.

After his classes and work shift, Jungwoo dragged his exhausted self back to the apartment. He unlocked the door, stepping into the place, which was still dark, oddly.

He switched on the light, walking into the dining area. His heart dropped when his eyes skimmed the room.

Usually, on their anniversary, Lucas would leave a vase of roses for Jungwoo near the entrance somewhere.

But this time, there was nothing.

Jungwoo's lips faltered into a frown. He walked quickly to his bedroom and later took a long shower.

He came back to the living room again, it was still the same as an hour ago. No roses, no Lucas.

Heaving a heavy sigh, the boy went to the kitchen to grab something to eat. He settled on the couch with a bowl of cereal, turning the television on to watch some reruns of a crappy show.

But he couldn't focus on eating or watching. There was only one thing running through his mind.

He jolted when he felt arms wrap around his chest area from behind. Snapping out of his gaze, the male turned his head, meeting a blob of dark hair.

Lucas rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder, while leaning over the couch. He didn't say anything, and Jungwoo leaned into the embrace, bringing his hands up and placing them on top of the other's.

They stayed like that for a while; enjoying each other's company. Despite having his boyfriend finally here, Jungwoo couldn't help the nagging in his mind - the fact that Lucas probably forgot their anniversary.

Lucas pulled back, coming around and sitting next to his boyfriend.

"I didn't mean to forget our anniversary." he quietly said, seeing the pained look in the other's eyes.

Jungwoo sat there and contemplated that sentence for a minute. "I know you didn't mean to." he replied, tone obviously hurt. He lifted himself from the couch, turning away from the other male. "But you still did."

Despite Lucas calling his name, Jungwoo walked away and turned towards his room. He didn't know why he snapped so suddenly, but tears brimmed his eyes - he couldn't handle it anymore.

The door shut.
