Tiqaah's POV
"I still can't believe it!" Jade, my best friend since high school said for about the tenth time. "You're the co-host of "The X-tra Factor" in the UK! Not too long ago you were the school anchorwoman! Oh man, remember those days?" I laughed along with her. Those days felt so long ago. I was the over eager freshman on TV every morning. "Of course I do! Now aren't you glad you moved to London with me?" Jade moved to London two years ago with me. She is a fashion designer and I always take advantage of it. She's my best frien. Sure, some high school friends lose touch, but not me and Jade! We lived close enough to see each other on the weekends. We lasted through college, ready to conquer the world together.
Since moving to London two years ago, my life has only gone up. I bounced jobs for both years between different morning shows and music stations until I got a call from "the X-tra Factor." I was so excited. I had been waiting for that job ever since I moved. Finally after two long years, my dreams came true.
Jade started out as a fashion editor of a magazine only styling, until she quit her job and started with me in London. Like my two years, Jade worked her ass off. She landed a job at Jack Wills as a designer. I stole so much clothes from her closet, it was fate that we were the same size. I love her diry mind...
Today, we were sitting on the couch of our posh city flat. We were roommates, of course. We had moved in a week ago. This was the biggest place that the two of us have ever owned. Our flat was its own floor. Our building had a doorman and everything. A bunch of famous, wealthy people apparently lived in our building, we had yet to meet any. Tomorrow was my first day of work, officially. I had been in all of last week, watching the crew prepare for the upcoming season and just getting myself situated. My co-host was Olly Murs. Yeah, that Olly! The pop singer extraordinaire. He welcomed me with open arms and we already had millions of inside jokes and bits prepared for the show. Jade and I were just talking. Well, she was listening and I was talking. I was a ball of nerves. Boot camp was over, so Olly and I would be on every night after the show, in addition to filming behind-the-scenes clips. I couldn't believe that I was finally a regular host of a show. I was excited and worried at the same time. Jade, being the amazing best friend she is, comforted me through my worries. We were interrupted by a knock on the door. Jade and I looked at each other. None of our friends had our address yet, let alone visited us. We hadn't even gotten around to planning a house warming party! I got up and adjusted myself. My wavy black mess of hair was piled on top of my head in a messy bun. I was wearing black leggings and a teal off the shoulder dancer shirt. Jade and I spent the day unpacking and getting ourselves organized...
I went to open the door and there stood two guys, probably in there 20's. They were both smiling at me. "Uh, hi? Can I help you?" I asked shifting my weight from one foot to the other. "Scott told us we had two fit new neighbors! We wanted to come by and welcome you!" the bald one said. He had a weird accent that I wasn't used to in London. Scott was our doorman. "Hope we weren't bothering, but we wanted to invite both of you for dinner at ours," the black-haired one said. I looked at Jade and she shrugged. "Sure, we'll be there in an hour?" I said. The bald one smiled. "I'm Max by the way, and that's Tom," he said pointing to the black-haired guy. "I'm Tiqaah and that's Jade," I smiled back. "Alright, we're up two floors and the third room, see you in an hour!" Tom said to us. "Sounds good! Bye," Jade said shutting the door. "It seems we've been invited to dinner," I grinned widely at Her. She rolled her eyes. "Which one do you like Jade?" I asked already knowing the answer. "Max," she smiled. Typical. He looked athletic, and she was a sucker for athletes. "Tom was really hot, he looked like your type too Tiq, I think you should go for him. He was eyeing you!" Jade said nudging me. I shrugged. "I'd rather be just friends right now. You know that I'm not looking for anyone. I'm focusing on my career this year!" I said back. She rolled her eyes at me again
