Cora POV

The waiter put down the glasses of champagne in front of us. He had neatly ironed clothes and a majestic handlebar mustache. Scanning my surroundings the people dining around us they were wearing there newest and fanciest attire.

My eyes fall on the couple dining beside us. They were chuckling merrily feeling a hand on my wrist my gaze refocused on River. He wore his plain white button down shirt paired with some black slacks and shiny shoes his hair pushed back in a way that looked sophisticated.

He repositioned his hand from my wrist to my palm intertwining are fingers.

The waiter returns with our entree of soup. Placing the steaming bowls in front of us before sauntering off again.

River releases my hand eating a spoonful of scorching hot soup. Instantly he regretted his decision and spit out the soup trying to fan away the burn off his tongue. His face going the shade of a tomato he looked up at me shamefully giving me a weak smirk.

I chuckle at his reaction and scoop a spoonful of soup blowing it off  before placing it in mouth.

Wiping the corners of my mouth I elegantly place the napkin back onto the table.

After paying our expensive bill we took a long stroll by the stone bridge.

I hold onto his bicep resting my head on his arm. We came near a wooden bench River motioned  for us to sit down I obey quietly.

I cross my legs and hold onto Rivers hand as he stared at the River beneath the bridge.

"This is a beautiful evening" I say in a dreamlike state.

River turns towards me nodding in agreement. We look up at the bright stars overhead bathing in its beauty.

"Let's go home" He states calmly standing up and holding out his hand for me to take.

I grab onto his hand and he helps me up and we again intertwine are fingers waving our hands as we walks towards the ancient apartment builds we live in.

Walking down the dirty hallway we stop abruptly at the doorway. I look at River who was looking down at me lovingly before leaning down guiding my chin upward placing his lips onto mine.

We separate and River unlocks the door turning on the lights.

I remove my coat and place on the coat rack and walk into the living room only to jump at the sight of a stranger.

On the black sofa lounged an elegant woman who had a glass of red wine resting between her manicured fingers.

"Who are you?" I ask taking a step back.

"Im Seraphina...White, but that is only my maiden name people know me more by Seraphina Darwin"
