"Don't put it on me!" yelled his father, fire evident in his eyes. "It's your fault our son married a peasant!"
"My fault?! Haegi is not a peasant!" yelled his mother back. "Who cares if he marries her! It's his choice and the girl done nothing wrong!"
Namjoon closed the door, walking to the garden once again. It was his twelfth birthday, he was excited to celebrate with his parents, but, they're fighting again and he doesn't want to be rude. The lonely boy sat himself down against the apple tree, letting out a sigh as he stared up at the blue sky. He grabbed sheets of paper along with a pen, letting the words trapped in his mind spill out onto the paper.
"What are you doing, Your Highness?" asked a voice. Namjoon turned, seeing his butler. "Oh, I'm just writing my thoughts," replied the young prince with a smile. His eyes travel down the butler, noticing that his usual formal attire was gone and replaced with a casual cloak along with a brown bag. "Where are you going, Donghae?" The butler smiled. "I'm going to the village to visit my family, Your Highness." replied the butler.
"Can I come along, too?" asked the young prince, eyes wide with hope. "W-Well, I don't think the queen and king would be so happy, Your Highness," said Donghae, looking down. Namjoon's smile fade, replaced with a sad look. "But, you can come if you follow my instructions." The young prince smiled, jumping in joy.
"Make sure to keep these on, do not remove it at any point," said Donghae, handing a similar cloak as his to Namjoon and a simple cloth. "If you someone dangerous approach you, use these bags and matches. They can create a smoke bomb for you to escape(I actually don't know if this work or not)." Namjoon nodded, making sure to keep them in his brown bag, also provided by Donghae. He slipped the cloak on, placing the cloth over his mouth and nose as he tied it securely. "Ready?" asked the butler. Namjoon nodded.
They climb over the back castle walls, making sure Namjoon wouldn't get caught. They walked down the brown, dirt-like path, Namjoon turning his head as it was his first time out of the castle. "Hold my hand," said the butler, reaching his hand out. "We'll be going through the market." Namjoon placed his hand on the other's large hand, clinging on tight. Donghae pushed through the crowd, making sure to pull Namjoon along close to his side as he did so.
Namjoon looked around, interest obvious in his eyes as he take in the place. "I'm sorry, Your Highness, but we can't view the market today." said Donghae, gently pushing a lady out of the way. They soon made their way out of the crowd. "We can view it another time," said Namjoon. "It's okay." They continue walking, less noise filling the air.
The young prince looked around. "How come there's not a lot of people?" asked Namjoon. Donghae shrugged. "This place is further, behind the big crowd and danger. It's just not as common and it's not as big," replied the butler. He then stopped, letting go of Namjoon's hand. "And everyone is just usually inside at this time, Your Highness." Donghae walked up to a brown house, knocking thrice. It opened, revealing a lady with brown hair in a loose gray dress.
"Your home!" said the woman, jumping at Donghae as she wrapped her arms around the butler. This must be Donghae's wife, thought Namjoon. Donghae chuckled as he kissed her forehead. "Sorry, took me a while since I had more work than I thought. This is Namjoon, The young prince-"
"Prince?!" asked Dongahe's wife, eyes wide in surprise. "Why didn't you tell me? Oh my, he must be hungry!" Namjoon giggled, shaking his head. "I'm not really hungry, ma'am." said Namjoon. She smiled. "You're so cute, Namjoon-ah. Is it okay if I call you Namjoon?" asked the woman. Namjoon nodded. "Sure, I feel like an adult when people call me with royalty too much." said the young prince, making the two adults chuckled. "You can call me Seomi." said Seomi, patting Namjoon's head. "By the way, where's the kids?" asked Donghae. Before Seomi can answer, three figures came through the doorway. "Appa!" they yelled, tackling the butler onto the ground.
