Shikamaru X Reader

(Y/N POV)

Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep...

I heard the steady beep's of a heart monitor. My eyes flutter open to see Lady Tsunade holding a clipboard at the end of the bed. She glances up. "Ah, you're awake!" She smiles. The door slides open and the shuts again. "Lady Tsunade, we have the reports." A nurse says boldly. "Well, she's awake, so you can tell the both of us now." Lady Tsunade says. "Well, she is the younger sister of Asuma Sarutobi, BUT she is not the daughter of Hiruzen." The nurse starts. "Asuma! I haven't seen him in forever!" I smile. "How is he?" I question. The both of their faces shot into sad looks.

(Thinks about when she met Shika)

"You alright?" I ask. "Yeah, you just remind me a lot of someone I care about who passed." Shika frowns.

(Stops thinking)

"No..." I choke. "No. No. NO!" I scream into tears. They stroll down my cheeks faster than Minato can teleport. While I was crying, I didn't notice the door open and someone walk up to me. I feel arms embrace me tightly, but not too tight. My eyes widen as they let go. I look up and see Shika with a bandage and no shirt. My cheeks heat up and I look away. Tsunade and the nurse had left the room. I face back and instantly wrap my arms around him. "I'm so glad you're okay..." I mumble, loud enough for him to hear. "I'm fine, you though... you had me worried!" He squeezes tightly. "So... that person you cared about... was his name Asuma?" I sigh sadly. "H-how?!" He flinches. I let go of him and pat my hand on the open space on the bed next to me. He sits down and I sigh deeply. "Asuma... H-he w-was m-m-my.." My voice got shakier and shakier until I cried more. "Shhhh. It's okay..." Shikamaru pulls me closer to his chest. After a few minutes I toughen up. He let's go and I look at him. "He is my older brother." I say swiftly. Tears form in my eyes but I wipe them away before they can fall. "What?!" He freaks out. "I'll be right back!" He screams while running out of the hospital door. My face turned into confusion. I sighed for the millionth time and lay back onto the bed, my head resting on the pillow. A few minutes later, Shikamaru runs in with a beautiful lady. She had black hair that rested right below her shoulders, and magnificent red eyes. I sit up on the edge of the bed. "Who is she?" I ask. "I'm Kurenai Yuhi, Asuma's girlfriend." She smiles. I look down at her stomach. "So that's-" My eyes widen in understanding. "So- so- A-Asuma almost had a family?!" I shout. My voice cracked when I said family. Warm beads of tears slowly rolled down my cheeks. "Am I an Aunt?" I ask. "Of course, I promised Asuma if I ever found you, to tell you." She smiles while walking to me. "And I'll treat you like you are my sister, I promise." She smiles warmly. I smile in return and hug her softly. "Thank you."

A/N: I'm sorry for not posting in ages. I have been writing many other stories, and I broke my phone, r.i.p. I'm also sorry for making this a short chapter but I wanted to make sure to update you. ALSO, I got in an accident and was in the hospital for a few days, so I wasn't able to update until AFTER surgery. Hopefully, you accept my apologies and understand.
