Just Friends

Just Friends
A boy and a girl , that's all it is
But not really in reality they were together but under circumstances that are spoken about in hushed whispers they aren't any longer

The girl no longer needs him
The Girl understands she's perfect and doesn't need a man
She's independent and can do things better that way
She knows that he's still there and she's sees him but doesn't keep eye contact . She knows they speak in hushed whispers when the two walk past each other, they speak about what he's done and what they both did in retaliation to his actions

The boy realises he needs her
The boy understands that he could be perfect but she made him better , he needs her back
He's independent or so it seems , he works better as a team but right no that team only has one member not the two he wishes for . He wants the team to function again
He sees her and she doesn't look at him , it hurts to know he's the reason she left him and now he's determined to fix it .

He stops her one evening while she's walking all alone
She wants to walk off but listens to his words
He explains himself and apologises properly this time
He says he wants her back , she Shakes her head and says she wants to just be friends , Just friends nothing more maybe less but never partners again , never lovers , just friends . Maybe not even considering what he's done .
He begs for a chance that would of never been given

She tells him to just stop and find another and she'll do the same even though he knows he wants no one else but her . She walks away as they go their seperate ways .
Waiting for time to pass .

A season changed and they grew closer as friends
She was glad to have him back and he felt the same , though he wished for them to be more than friends he respected her wishes knowing she'd moved on .

It's less awkward in the halls now
The hushed words are no longer spoken
They're just friends and know they'll never be anything more and both are now okay with it .
