The leaf ,
It starts out small and green
Growing from the branch of a tree
It grows bigger and greener
It reaches it's full size
It's splendid and beautiful
Nature is a wonder but leaves are special
They change with the seasons and
always look pretty while on the tree ,
Sadly they wither and fall off to the ground
Leaves go grey and brown
They decay on the ground
Like a soldier dying in battle
With its fellow comrades
It's a fallen soldier in the war on life
Life is beautiful but in death
things become sad and macabre
Leaves are no exception to this
As they grow and fall and wither
Poor leaves , poor us as humans ,
poor any living things that
Succumb to the thing called Life .
