Chapter Two - A Crush?

      I woke up from my nap and saw it was 6:00 pm. Then over the intercom, I heard the principle call everyone to the cafeteria for dinner. So I got my bag went downstairs and found the cafeteria. I got my food and went to an empty table in the back, pulled my book out, and started reading. Suddenly Rebecca comes up to me but doesn't sit. She just waits for me to put down my book so I do. "Hey, Rebecca what do you need?" I say. "I'm coming around to everyone and telling them to vote for me as the new Studen Council president!" she says. "Ok, will do." Then she smiles widely and says "Thanks!" She walks away and I'm back to reading my book.

      After about 15 maybe 20 minutes the principle speaks over the intercom saying dinners over and we are free to go about our night. I continue reading my book as I walk down the hall. I'm pretty good at avoiding people, its what I've been doing my whole life. Suddenly a girl who is also reading seems to be too involved in her book and apparently can't see so then we crash into each other. On the floor with things scattered everywhere. All the contents of my bag fell out! Well isn't this fantastic. The girl keeps apologizing while helping pick up my stuff. "I am so sorry! I didn't mean to! I wasn't looking where I was going and-" she studders. "Its fine," I say as I pick the rest of my stuff up. I quickly leave making sure that no one else saw that fiasco. 

      I head back to the dorm and when I get inside I feel like I can finally breathe. "Who was that and... w-what is this feeling? It's almost like i... like her..." I think as I lay on my bed. "There's just...something about her. Something that-" Suddenly my thoughts are interrupted by a very loud Rebecca with what seems to be her usual entry. Door flings open, she slides in knocks some stuff over, then fixes it up with the snap of her finger. "Hey, there roomie! Whatcha doin'?" She says as she slides over.

      "Nothing, just thinking," I say as I see a devious little smile go across Rebecca's face. "What?..." I say as I turn to meet her eyes. "Oh, nothing... just have a little question." She says as her smile grows wider. "And what might this 'question' be?" I ask and she simply replies with "you like her don't you?" "W-what?" I stammer. I was blushing. "That girl you bumped into in the hall. You like her don't you?" I was blushing even more and the answer was very clear though she kept asking me the same question over until I finally answered with "Yes, ok? I do like her" I was really red by now and Rebecca seemed satisfied with my answer.
