"WAIT-!" Brendon yelled, he couldn't miss this opportunity, he just couldn't pass up the one possible exit he had to a fresh clean slate, something new, he ran to the bus as it drove, he prayed that the traffic would slow, his feet clacking against the sidewalk as he ran, he saw a chance when the bus stopped in traffic at a red light.
Brendon felt hope.
He trotted to the bus and knocked on the fibreglass door, out of breath he could barely speak. "I hah-have a ticket-" he gasped out as he wheezed some, he watched as the door opened and he handed the man driving the smooth light piece of paper, a small sliver of hope
Brendon's eyes trailed along the people until his eyes met with Ryan's, the male walked back and went to the row Ryan was in, he sat next to the other male.
Ryan's face lit up as he saw the other male hey on the bus, he felt something, something he didn't understand, he felt hope for them, joy, the idea of him and some boy he met hopping a bus to Seattle, the place of dreams together, he watched as Brendon sat next to him, he could feel the inhale and exhales of the other male, quick as he seemed still out of breath.
"You made it." Ryan said as he smiled some, looking at the other males empty hands, no belongings, no nothing, Brendon was starting even fresher than Ryan was, nothing but his heavy heart and himself, Ryan frowned some.
"Sure did, checked my schedule and it seemed like I had an opening," Brendon said, grinning ear to ear at the other male, Brendon couldn't help but catch the other boys gentle beauty, the males soft brown hair, his warm chocolate eyes and soft, baby faces features, he looked like a fragile flower one wouldn't dare touch.
"You ever been to Seattle?" Ryan asked gently, tilting his head some, as his hair went in his face, Ryan sighed and blew it out, grabbing a red, brown and tan coloured headband, putting it in his hair.
"Nah, never really got out of Nevada, school and church and stuff." He shrugged some, nonchalant like, Ryan took this moment to examine Brendon's outfit; and orange tank top jersey with somewhat tatters ends, clearly loves well, blue jeans that fit Brendon is every perfect way, his hips hugged and his waist nice, the look finished with a pair of nikes, Ryan smiled until he went flush, noticing that Brendon had noticed him. "Like what ya see?" Brendon teased, gently and Ryan looked wide eyed, huffing and turning away awkwardly.
"Just looking at your clothes, they're cool, that's all." Ryan muttered under his breath, Brendon chuckled and shrugged some.
And now they just sat in silence, unsure of what either wanted to say to the other. They both seemed so different, they didn't know how to even start a coversation, so they didn't. Ryan pulled out his music folder and opened it, gripping a pencil inbetweeb his fingers neatly as he wrote down notes, humming softly in his chest and throat as he went along.
Brendon felt himself look over and peek at the other males work, he raised an eyebrow. "You write?" Brendon questioned, as he used his hand to swoop his nicely done hair back, now somewhat messy from the run to catch the bus.
"I write, play guitar and sing, not that in any good at any of them." Ryan shrugged as he glanced at Brendon, giving Brendon a small smile, Brendon smiled back and watched as Ryan went through his bag and pulled out a cookie, and then a second one, he raised an eyebrow at Brendon, he wasn't sure how to ask but yet he didn't want to be rude.
"That's cool." Brendon says as he then watched Ryan take the cookies out, he laughed a little and tilted his head to the left.
"Want one...? There's uh a special ingredient." He said, somewhat hinting at what he meant, not wanting to say it out loud, Brendon looked at Ryan, his head still tilted and his eyes squinted some as he looked confused, he then laughed and nodded some.
"Sure as hell not going to refuse, how much do you want?" Brendon asked as he pulled his wallet out of his pocket, Ryan put his hand up and waved it as he bit the cookie.
"You've paid me bough with coming with me, I was nervous as heck and now I feel..." he thought for a moment. "Somewhat relieved." Brendon nodded, acknowledging him somewhat, as he bit into his own cookie; them he sound of chewing between the two males, until they both finished.
"Nah I'm in heavy debt, dude, you bought me an expensive ass ticket and then gave me this." He said, laughing a little, Ryan shrugged some and smiled more, just sunshine and overall happiness right now, he then covered his mouth and gave off a laugh.
God that laugh.
Was that when Brendon started to fall for the other male? He wasn't sure, he tilted his head. "What's so funny?" He aske the older male and shifted in his seat, sighing at the annoying bumpy material he sat on. Hey
"Always hate waiting for one to kick in, feels like forever, but yet afte I finally feel it kick in its amazing." Brendon nodded, he could understand that completely, he felt his leg jump up and down, restlessly, Ryan raised an eyebrow. "You okay?" Ryan asked, the jittering piquing his interest some, he then watched as Brendon looked wide eyed.
"Fuck my vyvanse pills-!" Brendon said as he cursed himself, he usually had them in his pocket, but as he reached in he felt nothing but air and the denim against his hand. "God how am I going to get vyvanse now-!" Brendon asked, exasperated.
"Vyvanse?" Ryan asked, looking overall confused as he frowned some, seeing the other males distress.
"They're my ADHD meds-" he said, his forehead having creases from the males face is scrunched up. "-they must have fell out of my pocket when I ran for the bus." He said as he closed his eyes.
Ryan didn't typically know how to comfort people, but he put his hand on Brendon's arm and looked at him. "Everything will be okay, once we get to Seattle in about-" Ryan looked to his watch "-fifteen hours and twelve minutes." He groaned as he tapped his foot some, looking to his music folder.
Brendon felt his body go warm and his pulse somewhat quicken as he felt the other boys touch, he shook his head, trying to clear all his thoughts that tried to invade. "Yeah that's a long fucking drive." Brendon muttered as he then glanced back down at the music on Ryan's page. "Nine In The
Afternoon?" Brendon read off, Ryan flushed and nodded some.
"Yeah it's a song I have written a little bit to, but I'm kind of stuck" ryan admitted, he frowned some as he softly under his breath sang the first part. "Back to the streets where we began
Feeling as good as lovers can, you know Well, now we're feeling so good..."
Brendon could feel the edible start to kick in as he felt a slight buzz hit him, he grinned some and nodded as he hummed, his eyes closing as he thought. "Pickin' up things we shouldn't read..." Brendon sang in the same temp, adding some notes, in an attempt to help, Ryan perked up.
"That's perfect maybe like..." he looked at Brendon and gave the male a somewhat far off goofy smile, so soft and childish. "...Pickin' up things we shouldn't read It looks like the end of history as we know It's just the end of the world!" Ryan sang, his pencil tapping to the beat, and right then, Ryan knew he had fallen for someone, and he was falling quick and hard.
But hey, Ryan thought to himself as he smiled they were in a place, where thoughts could bloom
and in a room where it's was nine in the afternoon And they sure knew that it could be...
