A/N: jungwoo is younger in this fic btw- just for the ✨aesthetics✨ n shit

lucas knew he had feelings for jungwoo. he wasn't dense, like the guys in stories that never realize they're gay, and then when they do realize they deny it, even though it's blatantly obvious. anyways back to the point: lucas is gay for jungwoo, and he knows.

that's why he invited him to get sushi after  school, at the new shop that opened up on cherry street. he had basketball practice later, the first one of the season, and jungwoo had a mandatory study hall for trig, so they were meeting at 3:45 in front of the school, and lucas couldn't wait.

he sat in class all day, daydreaming, getting called out by the teachers- but he couldn't help it, jungwoo was gorgeous. can you blame lucas? his high cheekbones, cute little lips, long eyelashes-

"lucas!"

'shit.' he mumbled under his breath. of course he got reprimanded, he was lost in the thought of jungwoo again.

"can you answer number 3 for the class?"
the teacher asked, obviously very ticked off.

lucas looked down at number 3. ' what is the process of cold, nutrient rich, water being brought to the surface of a body of water called?' he sighed in relief, he knew this one.

"upwelling, ma'am."

the teacher had to do a double take, she was sure he was going to get this one wrong. "that's... actually correct. well done lucas, i'm sorry i doubted you."

"no worries, ma'am."

the bell rang, signaling lunch time. lucas pushed his chair back with his legs as he stood up and gathered his things.

—time skip bc writing dialogue sucks—
lucas got through the rest of the day fine, with only a few more incidents, and now it was the end of the day. lucas walked out of the school doors and into the brisk air, having just finished basketball practice. he sat on a bench next to the doors and looked at his watch, which read 3:42. lucas was certain jungwoo would've been early, but maybe he'd read him wrong...

he took off his bookbag and leaned against the wall, his breath condensing in the air in front of him and making it seem like he blew smoke out of his mouth. he checked his watch again, and was dismayed to see that only 5 minutes had passed. lucas was starting to get worried.

'he's fine, probably just got held up by the teacher...' he mumbled under his breath, although he didn't believe himself. another 2 minutes passed, and the front doors opened, about 15 students coming from the study hall.

lucas smiled and sat up straight, scanning every face. his smile slipped when none of them held the delicate features he spent so long thinking about.

he tapped a girl on the shoulder, and asked, " excuse me, have you seen jungwoo? a bit shorter than me, brown hair?" the girl shook her head no.

"no, i'm sorry. i don't think he was in the study hall, i didn't see him."

'shit.' he pushed past the girl and ran through the front doors, yelling, "jungwoo! jungwoo? where are you!"

as he rounded the corner and passed through the back doors, going outside to the place they'd danced in the snow, he spotted a pile of clothes someone had left. 'that's weird, i wonder why- fuck!"

the pile of clothes wasn't a pile of clothes, it was jungwoo.
