It's been 2 weeks. Two weeks since I had heard from him. Emily asks every night, "Where is daddy, Is daddy coming home?" I keep telling her "Soon. Baby. Soon." But I know that's a lie.
Right now Emily is at Devyn and Corey's. I just couldn't take her questions anymore. I keep thinking about that note I found "he owes me. tell him that or your both dead." That note was giving me goosebumps just thinking about it.
I decided to go get Emily from Devyn's house.
I'm driving to her house when my phone buzzes.
UNKNOWN- I told you he owes me. I want my money.
"What the fuck?"
I deleted it.
I finally pull up to her house and walk up to the door. I knock waiting about thirty seconds before she finally opened the door.
"Oh hey Tana, Emily and I just got back from the park." Devyn said.
"Oh fun." I say when Emily comes running from behind Devyn.
"Mommy!!" I squat down to her height with my arms open. "Hey baby, how was your day with Aunt Dev?" I said picking her up.
"Good!" She said with sticky stuff all over her face. "Thank you so much for watching her Devyn...really."
"Oh no problem we love to have her over."
I start to walk off and yell, "Oh bye Corey!"
"See ya!" I buckle Emily in her car seat.
We get far down the road and i ask Emily.
"So aunt Dev told me you guys went to the park." I said.
"Yeah, but there was this guy in a black jacket just sitting on a bench just watching me play."
I slam on my brakes in the middle of the road.
"Em, do you know what he looked like?" I said knowing who that man was.
FLASHBACK
I was pulled out of my thoughts by Brennen pulling my arm and both of us running. " What the hell are you doing why are we running!?!?" I yelled frantically. We were back in Brennens car speeding away. "What the fuck Brennen?" "There was a hooded man that was chasing us."
END OF FLASHBACK
"Uh no he was wearing a black jacket with his hood over his head and his hands were in his pockets." Emily tried her best explaining what he looked like. I could've just lost my daughter. My world could've crashed down in a matter of seconds. "Okay, I'm sorry for yelling. Do you want chicken nuggets for dinner?" I said knowing what her answer would be.
"Yeah!!" Emily yelled clapping her hands.
Yep she's definitely mine. I thought looking at her in my review. She looked so much like him.
I wish Brennen was here to witness all these milestones with her. Even if was just her getting excited about chicken nuggets.
I got her food and drove back home. I put Emily in her high chair at the table and gave her her food. I went to the kitchen to call Brennen. "The person you are trying to reach has a voicemail box that is full."
"Dammit!" I yelled and threw my phone.
"Mommy! I'm done!" Emily yelled.
I went and got her from the table. I put her in the bath and put her to bed. I tiptoed out of her room closing the door quietly. I went downstairs and grabbed a bottle of wine and my phone. I tried calling him again. This time it rang for a few seconds then stopped. Like he declined it. A few hours after me being paranoid. What about? I don't know. I'm just one of those people that even if their innocent they think their guilty. That's when I heard it a piercing scream that belonged to my little girl.
"Mommy!!!"
Hey, so that was one of my better chapters. Idk how much longer this book will be. But i already know how it will end i just don't know how to get there if that makes any sense. Sorry i haven't been updating my other books. I just don't have any ideas right now. So sorry. I'm gonna try and focus on this book right now. So yeah. Thanks to anyone who actually read this.
