I check the text I received from Avery while on the phone with Max. I'm sorry again. I hope to see you soon. Before Friday preferably. I don't know if I can go that long without you.

There goes the tingling again.

My fingers fly as I text message him back. I'm sure we'll bump into one another. I smile at myself for playing it cool.

When I glance at the time, I can't help but curse, "Shit! The conversation with Max put me behind schedule. I'll be late."

I rush to finish and pull up in front of Leo's apartment at twenty past two. I send him a text to let him know I'm waiting outside.

"Diva!" Leo says as he gets in the car. He kisses me on the cheek.

"Hi, love!" I smile. "Sorry, I'm running behind."

"No worries. It's not like we're meeting the queen of England." He pauses and stares intently at my face.

"What? Is there something on my face?" I ask.

"Something happened. You have a glow about you today..." He peers at me with squinted eyes.

"What? You're insane! All I did was talk to Max. That's why I'm late." I roll my eyes as I try to play it off.

"Hm, nope! That's not why you're glowing. If I had to take a guess, I'd say it has something to do with Avery," he guesses.

"Care to consult the spirit world to be sure?" I tease.

"Bitch! If I did, they'd tell me the truth."

"Hey! I forgot to kick your ass for telling Avery I was home the other day." I suddenly remember.

"So what if I did?" He shrugs.

"He showed up after you left with a basket of stuff and flowers!"

"Oh, you poor thing! A fine ass man showered you with gifts? What is this world coming to?" He pretends to clutch imaginary pearls.

"Funny..."

"So, how did you handle this terrible ordeal?" His sarcasm continues.

"I let him in, of course. He knew I was home and wouldn't leave."

"And?"

"Well, I agreed to dinner Friday night at his place. He broke me down," I confess.

"I have a notion that wasn't too hard to do." He smiles.

"Yeah, well, it gets worse." I figure I might as well admit all the stupid things I've done with Avery lately.

"Tell me all your sins, dear." Leo pretends to be all pious.

I shake my head and laugh. "Yesterday, after you walked me home, he caught me coming inside. He had ordered food. I don't understand what came over me, but when he asked me to join him for dinner, I said yes. So we took the food to my place and had dinner."

"And then you fucked, right?" He looks at me excitedly.

"No, not really," I reply, not sure how to explain what happened last night.

"You either fucked, or you didn't. Not really, isn't an answer." He rolls his eyes.

"Look, I'm not sure how to explain what happened. We kissed; made out really. His emotions were out of control and so were mine. The combination did things to my body I didn't realize were possible. He didn't touch me, but he gave me an orgasm." I can sense my face going red.

"He mind fucked you? Like, literally!" Leo breaks into a roar of laughter.

I can't help myself and laugh right along with him. "Yeah, I guess you can say that."
