As soon as your seat belt clicked, you reached for the radio dial.

"Woah, now," Josh exclaimed. "I'm driving. I should be in charge of the radio."

You sighed, rolling your eyes. "Nope. You chose the station when I drove, so I'm choosing when you drive. Sorry, babe." You twisted the tuner to your favorite station and turned the volume up high.

Josh winced and plugged his ears. "You're going to go deaf soon."

"You play concerts way louder than this," you yelled over the music.

"Yeah. In larger spaces." He turned the volume down. "There. We can still hear it, without blowing out our eardrums."

Driving past the houses and buildings and eventually just the trees, you rode relatively silently. You mumbled lyrics every now and then when you knew the song.

Then it came on.

You whipped your head to face Josh. "Can I turn it up now?"

He grinned. "Yeah, I guess."

You turned the volume up again as Josh's own voice poured out of the speakers.

Sure, you guys had heard their songs on the radio several times, but it never lost its luster.

Josh swelled with pride as he watched you singing and dancing to his band's song. You were always Greta Van Fleet's biggest fan, beside their parents.

"Josh, you have to sing along!" you exclaimed.

"I am singing it!" he laughed.

"No, I mean it! Come on! Well, I love you in that movie show!"

"Can I have your autograph?" he sang along with you.

You both belted the lyrics until it finally faded out. As the radio moved onto he next song, you lowered the volume back down and turned to look at Josh.

"I'll never get tired of that."

Glancing at you briefly, he tilted his head. "What?"

"You being an actual rockstar," you answered simply, a smile on your lips. "Soon enough, I'll be fighting off groupies just to keep you."

"Groupies ain't got nothing on you, babe."

I have come to realize I am actual trash at endings. Essays, imagines, relationships... it's sad really. The endings almost always suck, but oh well. Hope you enjoyed this imagine for the Rat King. M'kay.
