I growl as I attempt to tie my hair back. I do not, repeat, do not, appreciate my new haircut that Halt gave me. With his arrow. From twenty yards away.  But I suppose I will have to make do. Sigh.

So after that show-off proved for the billionth time that he was the best, he was the hands-down-best-shot-the-world-has-ever-even-imagined (his words, not mine), we all went back to our respective homes. Why I ever wanted to be his apprentice is totally beyond me. I mean, he’s conceited, he’s tempremental, he’s a pain the the…  But he can afford to be my sensible side argued. He actually is the best.

Sometimes, I really hate it when my conscience is right.

                                                                                       *******

For some reason, Halt is really excited this morning. He’s happy too. It’s kind of freaking me out. For example, he allowed me to sleep in past dawn, he made breakfast, and when I was about to start doing my chores he said, and I quote, “Forget about it.” Can you believe this? After asking him if he had eaten any questionable meat or poisoned berries, he laughed. No, I didn’t write that by mistake. He laughed. I’m beginning to feel a little scared. But finally after minutes of nonstop begging, I got my answer.

“I got a letter today. A summons to speak with the king and queen about a mission they have for me. And by me, I mean you and I.” Halt said. I almost fell over. Already?! These things usually take time. I was so ecstatic, I literally bounced in my seat. Halt looked at me sternly. “It may be too dangerous for an apprentice, but I intend to formally ask to bring you along.” Only slightly disappointed, I nodded. “But,” he smirked, “first, we must do something about your hair. I’m afraid I didn’t quite do a very good job cutting it and no one is going to do me any favors with an apprentice that looks like that.”

                Then he outright laughed.

                                                   ****************

Ok, i've been lazy lately. so sue me.

I know this chapter is ridiculously short, but i am having huge writers block. i'm even having a hard time writing this authors note. Next chapter will most likely have some Horace and Cassandra/Evanlyn or whatever-the-heck-her-name-is. but one thing i would like to mention is that there are 1,000 reads as of the last time i checked. WOOT! and i know i've said this before, but i really will start updating weekly. Pinky swear. I would love some input, some ideas... anything and everything helps.

THANK YOU!

oh and by the way. i really dont' know anything about copyright so i just put it as all rights reserved. but don't copy my story. if you have a better idea, on the copyright thing, send me a message. i really appreciate it.
