Tooth sat on a ledge in her palace finishing up the book of the monster in the closet. It had been a full day of reading whatever was left that was legible.
Tooth sighed as she shut the book. She was able to get a bit of information out of it, but as she read it the monster seem a little less scary.
The monster was afraid of adults and would run when they entered the room. The child was always terrified of the monster, but also they mentioned they were upset over a extremely fearful dream they had before. Making her think it fed off of dreams. Deep dreams that were a struggle to wake up from like she witnessed, it seemed they woke easy when the monster roared. These dreams. They seemed to be a important part of identifying what the monster's true  intentions were. She needed to speak with Sandy, maybe he would know what they were. She flew off to find him.
Her mind racing to much to notice the dark shadow following her, her fairies were to busy to even notice. Automaticly if they did they would know it was pitch.

Now pitch on the other hand knew very well  that the Guardians were going to be good source for information on the monster whereabouts, and maybe new information. They were searching for it too. If he watch and listen from a distance as they search he could figure it quicker and possibly get to it before them. He would check on them from time to time.
His plans were changing as he got new information. While the Guardians did his work on information of the monster whereabouts, he was growing his fearling army. After his incounter with EB he went straight into finding one. Which was sorta of easy, only because they were his men before and he knew how to look for one. Once he gathered a few including a nightmare-man they gave him good and important information. Mindless as the fearlings were they had one goal, give and feed off of fear. They knew of the perfect way to get stronger. Pitch was impressed with the information on what they've been up to. What they learn to do.
What they did was put children into night terrors, ones that could keep a child trapped in constant fear. A powerful fear. They could drain everything from the child slowly putting them into a darkness. Their light vanishing, non existent. That is if they weren't woken.
He also found out the monster in the closet was never going to be his comrade. They didn't feed off fear they were chosen by the man in the moon to stop fearlings from harming kids. Waking the child and destroying their comrads. Yet, at a price. The monster was hated by the children and were threatened by anyone that caught site of it. This to him explain why the Guardians didn't know about it's existence until now. It must fear that they would treat it the same way. Which was good for him. It was also good for him that the Guardians didn't know about any of this. Which for him seemed promising. He may still have a chance with the monster. That is if he could carry out his plans, and he could start them. All he needed  was to find their whereabouts were first. It wasn't his plan he first thought of, but better.

Right now he was watching as tooth flew into a nearby town to find and speak with Sandy. He kept a good distance as she finally found and got Sandy's attention.
"Sandy!" She called out. Sandy was on one of his sand clouds above the town sending out dream sand to the children. He perked up at her voice and looked. "Glad I found you." She fluttered in place holding out the book. "I've got a question for something the book spoke about." He motion her to ask it giving her his full attention. "Okay in the book it mentions how right before the monster appears the children get a intense nightmare, one that makes them struggle to wake from. Like what happened with the child I ran into. Sometimes they could come back. Do you know what it's talking about?" That got Sandy's eyes to go wide sand poping over his head.
(Writter note: remember I'm going to type Sandy's speaking mostly in thought sense it is hard to explain some things through sand. You just be creative on that part for me.)
"Are you sure that's what it said?" Tooth gave a nod. He frowned giving a nod. "Yeah I know what they are. Their called night terrors, dreams that are worse than nightmares. I didn't know they were going to be tied to this. Explains some things though." That made tooth frown. Sandy gave a silent sigh. This was troublesome. Tooth thought about it and remember how the child struggled badly.
"Do you think their the monsters doing? Making the children suffer until their satisfyed?" Sandy looked at her and shrugged unsure. He thought about it. It didn't make sense though, for one if the monster gave them the night terrors how was the fearlings tied into it all. Tooth looked at the book. "I'm going to go tell the others about the night terrors. I'll leave you to finish your work here." She smiled. "Come to the pole when you can." He smiled giving a nod, as in saying alright. Tooth quickly took off. He slowly looked away to think more. Distracted. This gave pitch time to sneak off to try and beat tooth.
The more Sandy thought about it the more theroys came to mind. Suddenly his eyes widen at one theory. What if the fearlings gave the night terrors and the monster might be actually stopping them. At that very second of realization the moon's light shined brightly on him. He blinked before looking up at the moon very slowly his eyes widen more.
