Chapter five

"You never did really tell me why you lived in the forest." Said Lady Aphmau. "I'm not here to talk about....... Actually yes I am. Not necessarily that but I can include it." I said. I looked to Garroth as if to ask if I should but he couldn't see my face still 😑. I think he got the message because he nodded. I took a deep breath and got ready to explain. "Before I start, you DO know of Garroth's family drama right?" I asked. Lady Aphmau nodded. "Yeah.... Why?" She asked.

I then started explaining my story. I grew up in the forest since before I was even 1. I grew up in the forest because I was thrown out of my house like garbage. I never knew who my parents or family were. Recently, Zane came up to me and told me I was him and Garroth's sister. That's why Garroth had to pull me aside to talk. Zane had also told him. Both me and Garroth have a hard time believing this however there is strong evidence that my prove that Zane was right." I explained.

"But then, why would your parents throw you out and not Zane or Garroth?" Lady Aphmau asked. "Because O'Khasis doesn't agree with the lord having twins. It's to much responsibility to take care of 2 babies the same age." Garroth explained. I didn't know that... "Wait, so if what Zane said is true, you'd be Zane's twin?" Zoey, who was still in the room, asked. I nodded. "Wait. You're Zane's twin!?" Laurence was shocked. "If what he said is true, then yes, I just thought I should tell you because I earlier told you I have no connection with him." I told Lady Aphmau.

"That way I wouldn't think you were lying if I heard if this?" She asked. I nodded. "Well thank you for telling me." She thanked. "Well, I'm going to go now." I said. The sun was starting to set. I was tired from my bad sleep last night so I'm going to sleep a bit earlier today. I got to the guard station and slept immediately. I woke up the next morning bright and early. I had heard that there will be a baby shower at the barn house today. I can't wait! I met Alexis and Kyle and they are little cuties.

I had to get up early because now I need to make them their gifts. I don't know where I could buy a gift from so making it would be my best option. I grabbed 2 fabric bags that I had with me. I cut them and stitched them and stuffed them to make 2 wolf plushies. One of them was green and the other was rose pink. I wanted them to match the babies' eye colour. By the time I was done, it was pretty much time for the baby shower to start. I headed over to the barn. There were balloons outside the doors.

You could tell there was a celebration going on here. There was already many people here. I saw little Alexis and Kyle playing on the ground with Lady Aphmau's son Levin. I placed their gifts in the gift pile off to the side. I'm not really a social person so I didn't to much. I said hi to a few people but mostly minded my own business. Then, I heard something outside. It sounded like someone just walked into a tree? I decided to go outside to check.

 I saw a man with light brown hair and blind eyes with Cadenza. The man seemed familiar. No. That can't be Laurence, can it? I saw Aph walk over to him. I over heard their conversation. Yep, that's Laurence. I heard Aph laughing after telling Laurence that he had blue hair. I laughed quietly to myself then decided to join the conversation after Aph told Laurence that his hair wasn't blue. I stood beside Aph. "Hey Laurence. What's with the purple hair?" I asked.

 Both me and Aph were holding in our laughter and so was Cadenza. "What!?" He yelled. Then all three of us laughed. "I'm just kidding." I told him while still laughing. We stopped laughing a bit after Laurence joined. Cadenza went ahead of us to go inside. We were about to head back to the baby shower when Zane and his guards stopped us. "Aphmau, you are to be arrested for trying to sabotage Garroth's wedding with the daughter of ScalesWind." Said one of the guards.

 "What!?" She yelled. "And what proof do you have to support this accusation?" I asked. "She asked me a question about what if Garroth had another woman in his life. It was clear that she wanted to get in the way of the marriage." Answered Zane. "That sounds like she was curious not like she was trying to get in the way. Besides, her and Laurence are engaged. She would never even fake a relationship behind his back." I lied. 

 "Really?" Zane asked. "Yep. Me and her are engaged." Said Laurence. I hope Aphmau caught on too. "Well that's interesting." Said Zane. I know he doesn't believe us though. He's just going to wait and see how this lie plays out. I saw that Garroth was just walking over to the baby shower. I'm pretty sure he heard the conversation. "Is it true brother that Lady Aphmau and Laurence here are engaged?" Zane asked Garroth. I just hope he goes along with the lie. "Of course it's true." Answered Garroth. Phew. 

 Zane and his guards then left. "Thank you guys for going along with it." I thanked once I knew Zane and his guards couldn't hear. "Thank YOU for possibly saving my life." Thanked Lady Aphmau. "You're welcome." I told her. My question is, what was Zane doing coming from the barn? We all headed inside. "What was Zane doing here?" I asked Molly nicely. "Oh. He just came here to give Alexis a necklace." She answered. I can sense a dark power in this room. It wasn't here before. Wait, since when could I sense power? Whatever.
