As I walked through the halls of my house, I couldn't help but linger a second outside two big oak doors and feel a slight pain in my heart.

This used to ber her room.

Over the years, I had somewhat become used to the pain. But the memory of her lying in that hospital bed, telling me to stay strong while I sat there holding her hand and begging her to not leave me was something I will never be used to.

My mother had died when I was five. She had breast cancer. She first got it after she gave birth to me. Slowly and silently, the cancer took her life and she left this world. And a five year old girl sobbing beside her grave, holding her father's hand.

My father.

I quickly moved further down the hall towards another pair of similiar doors. My father's study.

He had called me there to meet a friend of his. I don't know why he wants me to meet him. I mean, he was probably just another business partner.

My father was Raymond Henderson. The billionaire who owned 'Henderson Industries.' He was a cold hearted businessman to the rest of the world but a real softy when it came to me.

After my mom died, my dad was pretty depressed too. But he stayed strong for me and comforted me during that time. I love my dad. He is the most honest and good willed man I had ever met.

The first thing I noticed in my dad's study was his worried expression. He was sat behind his desk and had a very troubling look in his eyes.

As soon as he saw me his lips turned upwards in a smile,, but his eyebrows were still a little tensed.

"Amelia, I want you to meet our long time business partner and one of my best friends, Daniel Jamison." My dad said nodding towards the couch in the centre of the room.

I turned around to see a man, looking to be the same age as my dad, sitting there smiling kindly.

He had white hair with a few blond streaks and a well built body. His eyes were a deep blue and they were very kind looking.

"Hello Mr Jamison, I'm Amelia. It's a pleasure to meet you."

I said shaking his outstretched hand.

"Please call me Daniel, Amelia. It's a pleasure to meet a beautiful woman as you, too." He said.

"I'm just going to leave. I have to go back to the airport and catch a flight, you see. Have a nice day."

He said to me and then went to hug my father goodbye. They really did seem good friends.

After another nod in my direction, he left.

"So...?" I started, looking at my dad expectantly. I knew for a fact that he didn't call me here just to shake hands with his friend.

"Amelia," My dad sighed,"The reason why Daniel came today is because he needed a favor."

"A favor?" I repeated.

"Yes. You see his company 'Jamison and Co.' has broke down. He didn't know what to do and had come here to discuss it with me. We found a solution..."

He trailed off and I sensed a 'but.'

"But?" I prompted.

"But, the only solution to save the company is to merge it... with our company." He said sounding very tired suddenly.

Still not understanding where this was going, I asked,
"How do you plan on doing that?"

My dad stood up slowly and came to stand directly in front of me.

"It's not me who has to do it, it's you.
You have to marry their son... Chase Jamison."

For one moment, everything stopped and I could not comprehend anything.

Me? Marry?

Too shocked to say anything, I just turned around and walked out of the door.
