What Do I Do?

A week after I had agreed to marry Chase, I found myself in the mall with my best friend Eva Smith.

Eva and I had been best friends since kindergarten. Ever since she had beaten up Henry Stinson for eating my lunch.

Later she had came to my seat holding Henry's lunch.

"He took your lunch. I beat him up and took his lunch for you. Here." She had said holding the Spiderman lunchbox which apparently contained my favourite chocolate chip muffin.

"Thank you. I'll give you this muffin, will you be my best friend?" I had said handing her the muffin which she greedily ate and had nodded to me, indicating that she'd be my best friend.

Even in high school Eva hadn't changed much, except becoming like a thousand times hotter.

As we were looking at a really cute top, she said,

"Wait, wait, wait. So, you're telling me that your dad is willingly handing you over to some guy you've never met before just to save his best friend's ass?" Eva asked as I finished telling her about the whole marriage fiasco.

"I-" I started to say but she cut me off.

"And you said 'yes'?" She asked turning around so that she was facing me and I was a little intimidated by her. Eva could be really scary if she wanted to. Ask Henry.

"Eva, I told you about my dad and Mr Jamison's friendship. And Maria.... she was my mom's best friend. My dad has never asked anything from me before this. I can't let him down, and you know that." I told her calmly.

I can't let my dad down. And now the whole Jamison family is also dependent on me. And my mom....
so many people are depending on me.

"Amelia, you're giving away your life." Eva said quietly.

"I'm not giving away my life. Who knows, maybe I'll be back by next month. Maybe this will all figure out itself and I'll just give a divorce to Chase. Then we'll all be happy." I tried to cheer her up but deep down I knew that I was just comforting myself with lies.

"You're too good, you know." Eva said cracking a smile.

But it was a sad smile.

We just left the conversation there and decided to go get a pizza in the food court.

"Make sure to pick up my coat from Leo."

When I reached home, my dad was telling something to Richard, his assistant.

Richard nodded his head in a greeting to me before going out of the room.

"Amelia! You're back so soon. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that the Jamisons want the wedding as soon as possible. So, we agreed on the next Sunday. I'm sorry for the rush, but you know that business is always rushed. I've also sent out the invitations to our close family and friends. You should invite your friends, too. I should get going there's a lot of work to do." My dad said it all in one breath and then kissed my forehead before leaving.

I just stood there stunned for the second time by my dad's words.

Next Sunday?

NEXT SUNDAY??

NEXT FREAKING SUNDAY?????

And then the reality of the moment sunk in.

"I'm going to get married next Sunday." I whispered to the walls.

(Chase's P.O.V)

I was sitting in my office when there was a knock.

I looked at the time. 9:30pm.

Strange, I sent everybody home, well whoever was left of the staff. Most of them had quit my dad's company as soon as it broke down officially.

I was still working hard to get get 'Jamison and Co.' back in market.

There was another knock, bringing me back to the present.

"Come In." I called out.

The door opened and in came George, my dad's most trustworthy employ. He had some files in his hands.

"Oh, hello George. What brings you here?" I asked.

"Mr Jamison, your father has sent me. He wants you to know that Ms Henderson has agreed."

Oh.

Amelia Henderson was our last hope at saving the company. And she had agreed to help us. To marry me.

I should be happy.

But I wasn't.

Because I was giving away my life.

"Oh, okay. Just tell dad it's fine and I'll be in my office tonight." I said, trying hard to not let my voice break in front of George.

He just nodded and left, closing the door behind him. But I saw something in his eyes.

Pity.

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I opened my laptop to see a mail from dad. Inside it was a picture.

Of a girl.

Of a beautiful girl.

Of Amelia Henderson.

I stared at her picture. Her long hair and hazel eyes. Her pouty lips and pink cheeks.

In the picture she was leaning against a wall, wearing a very nice outfit. (On the side)

I sighed.

She was going to be my wife. And she's only 18. Still in high school. And I'm 22.

What do I do?

Soooooooooo........... How was the chapter? I hope it was to your liking. I think Chase was good. And just to be clear, yes he thinks that Amelia is beautiful but isn't attracted to her or anything. Next chapter will be a little more drama.
