My Annoying Protector

It's Thursday and I have college today. I really don't want to go. I punched Elijah and almost got into a fight with those girls yesterday . The only good thing that came out of that day was meeting Oliver. I get up and do my usual morning routine, as I'm heading downstairs I notice Jeff sitting on my couch with a bunch of chips everywhere. He can't even pick up after himself. What a child. I glare at him "You better pick that up" he rolls his eyes already annoyed by just looking at me

"Yeah yeah whatever. Are you heading for school?"

I raise an eyebrow "Why? Are you going to be following me all day?"

He starts picking up the empty bags of chips and throws them away. He walks over to the door and opens it, "Uh yeah, I don't want to get in trouble so hurry the hell up so we can get this over with" I scoff and walk past him heading to my bus stop.

As I get on the bus and plug in my earphones I notice Jeff didn't get in. He's still outside and he's just waving 'bye' at me. I shake my head at him and look away. So much for protecting me. Whatever, it's not like I care. I start listening to a song called "cold door handles" by Idealism. I start thinking about how winter is coming soon. It's November right now and December is just around the corner. I love winter. You get to go to cute coffee shops and buy new sweaters. You get to cuddle with your significant other. Well if you have one. I can't relate.

The bus stops at my school and I get off while looking around. I hope no one pays attention to me and I hope I don't bump into Elijah or those girls. As I'm looking around I notice Jeff is leaning against a tree staring at me. He has his hood on and he's wearing a black surgical mask to hide his weird ass smile. Creepy much? I glare at him and turn away quickly to let him know I don't need him around. I head into a small coffee shop we have on our campus and start ordering.

I get tapped on the shoulder and me, thinking it's Elijah or those girls, slowly turn around with a bit of anger "What. Do. You. Want." I widen my eyes and blush out of embarrassment realizing it's Oliver. He gives me a weird look and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm so so sorry, I'm really sorry" I say while holding my hands together.

"It's fine" he says with a small smile "I'll pay for your drink" he says.

We grab our coffee's and sit at a small table. I awkwardly spin the cup around not knowing why Oliver would do that or even sit with me? "Uhh so.." He says trying to break the silence "I heard about what happened to Elijah" he says while laughing a little.

"Oh yeah. That jerk." I say with anger

He smiles wide saying "Hey, no one is mad, he had it coming for being a dick!"

I giggle "yeah I guess you're right" we talk for about 30 minutes and head off to class. The professor is giving her long lecture like always. Me and Oliver are messing around playing hangman or playing a video game on our phones. He's pretty cool. I miss Gabby though..

I get up and stretch "Time to go home"

Oliver looks at me "Do you want to get lunch? I'll treat you to it so don't say no!"

I give him a soft smile, "sure"

It feels pretty weird hanging out with someone else that isn't Gabby. We walk out of class and I feel as if someone is following me. I turn around quickly and it's Jeff.

I roll my eyes and pull him to the side by his sleeve "What do you want, why are you watching me so close?!" I whisper yell.

He pulls his surgical mask down to his chin "Aaaannnnd why are you whispering? Who's the guy? Your boyfriend?"

Oliver turns around "Hey, he your friend?"

Jeff pulls the mask back on and puts his arm around me "Silly boy, I'm her closest friend...Who are you?"

I push Jeff away and walk to Oliver "Whatever".

Jeff chuckles and Oliver gives him a weird look "Um okay...well I'm a friend of hers so..." I facepalm and grab Oliver's arm while leading him to a convenience store on campus.

I grab a Cup of Noodles and Oliver grabs chips with a sandwich. We sit down and eat. But unfortunately I can't even eat in peace due to Jeff smirking and winking behind Oliver. I ignore him and continue eating.

Oliver suddenly looks at his phone and jolts up "Uh hey, (Y/N) I have to get home it's kinda urgent, it was pretty fun today, see you tomorrow!" He says while running away. What a nice boy. I smile and wave as he leaves. Once he's gone I sit in front of Jeff and glare at him. "I thought you said my social life wasn't important to you"

"And it's not"

"So why are you talking to my friend?"

"Precaution"

"For?"

"It's confidential"

I scoff. "Right. I forgot I can't know a damn thing."

He rolls his eyes "You'll know soon so stop being a big ass crybaby and be patient!"

"Patient?! You want me to be patient?! I'm living in fear not knowing who's trying to harm me!" I say while getting up angrily.

Jeff gets up as well "Shut the hell up! You're so damn annoying! I already told you my mission is to protect your lame ass!"

I start laughing out of anger "Protect me?! Protect me?? YOU?! That's hilarious! You're more like a damn stalker and I'd rather have someone else protec-" I get cut off by Jeff pushing me to the ground with him. "What the hell are you doing you stupid joker wannabe?!"

"Shut the hell up! Look!" He points at a knife stuck into the wall behind us. I didn't even notice that. I didn't even hear it. By the looks of it, if I leaned back just a little it would've been inside my head instead of the wall...Jeff quickly gets up and pulls out his knife. Students start to notice us and circle around us. Oh no.
