The Doctor leaned against the base of the TARDIS console with the usual bright and optimistic smile on her face. She had just dropped everyone off on earth. These in between times were lonely and usually spent sulking despite the regeneration having a brighter out look that the old Scotsman, she was still rather sad sometimes. However, today felt different, her hearts were felt with warmth and were beating seemingly out of control.
She held Yasmin Khans hand!
She felt like a school girl around her crush it was unbelievable! Sure, she had grabbed her hand before, but that was always in a 'oh no let's get away' situation, but not this time! Oh no, this time Yaz grabbed her and when the exited the TARDIS on the surface of Jupiter nonetheless, one of the most romantic and stunning planets in it's prime.

The Doctor stood and couldn't help but jump with excitement, she couldn't stop thinking about it all day, she just had to let out her happiness now that she was alone. As she danced around the console, the TARDIS beeped and booped in defiance, reminding her disaster of a pilot of the fact that this wasn't smart.

"Ooh, I know." The blonde stopped and rolled her eyes. "I jus' can't help it, you know! 'S been awhile since I've felt like this." She couldn't wipe that soft and adorable smile off her face. Every time she thought about Yaz her stomach filled with millions of butterflies and her hearts raced. She felt like a child falling in love for the first time again. "I'm allowed a bit of happiness sometimes y'know! I just, oh I dunno...She just makes me feel all fuzzy and weightless!" The TARDIS groaned and creeked in response.

"I know, it's dangerous. I know I shouldn't allow this, I know, I know. Jus' won't tell her, right? Keep it a secret between me and you, kay?" She gave the console a pat. She stared at the warm light that was bouncing off her face. She sat there in the quiet empty TARDIS with a forlorned expression gracing her face, orange from the light. "But to be honest, don't really feel like goin' anywhere else right now." The time lady smirked, knowing well that her ship was not going to approve of her next impulsive actions.
The Doctor turned and ran out the door. It was sprinkling and rather cold out, however she didn't think to put her hood up, she was more concerned with not being lonely at the moment. Of course there wasn't going to be a big "I love you" or anything like that, she wasn't lying about keeping her little crush a secret. She just didn't want to sit around all alone on a day that made her feel this giddy.

It would seem luck really did bless her today as she saw the one and only, Yaz herself walking out of the apartment building she lived in. The Doctors eyes immediately widened and her stomach filled with those bloody butterflies again that tried to inhabit her lungs as well.
"Yaz!!" She stopped, now out of breath but still with a wide sunny smile on her flushed face. "Doctor?" Yaz asked with a confused but amused expression as well as a slight giggle in her voice. "What are you doing?" The girl asked as she watched the Doctor catch her breath hunched over and hands on knees.
"I dunno honestly." The Doctor straighted out and sighed. "Jus' kinda felt like hangin' out I 'spose. If you're not busy 'course." That smile couldn't brighten anyones day, that woman was like the walking embodiment of a sun.

"I was just heading out to get some diner, the family ate without me again." The human laughed and then shook her head. "They've officially stopped saving me leftovers. You've really gotta work on getting me home in time, Doc." This was the third night in a row she hadn't gotten home in time for diner, that plus all the other nights scattered throughout the year worth of time she was home late, she was worried that they might start suspecting something. "Don't even get me started about work, miracle they haven't gone and fired me yet."
"I know, you're right, sorry 'bout that, Yaz." The Doctor scratched the back of her head as a noticeably larger drop of water fell on her head. "We should probably get out of the rain huh?" Yaz nodded. "We could take the TAR-" The Doctor turned and pointed at her ship before the other woman butted in.
"Or, we could take my mums car. Think I've had enough of the TARDIS for today." Yaz smiled and the Doctor, though disappointed, agreed with a scronch of her face and got into the small grey car. Smelled like Yaz's family, which had sort of become a comfort for the time lords oversensitive nose. Every time she was invited over for tea it was such a nice break from the smells of the city, every person has their own scent, and Yaz, to the Doctor at least, smells like warm freshly brewed tea, sunflowers after rain and optimism, which despite what you may think has a very clear and happy scent to it, humans are just too oblivious, of course.

"Think we should invite Ryan and Graham?" The Doctor tilted her head slightly, making her hair fall ever so slightly on to her shoulder. She did enjoy her time with all her friends despite her little crush on one of them. All three on them were great and wonderful people to experience.
"Nah, let's just have a girls night, how's that sound?" Yaz also obviously enjoyed the boys company but sometimes a little break doesn't hurt. The Doctor grew a bit nervous now. Thoughts and debates on if this was a date or not coursed through her skull, overloading her brain. It couldn't be a date, that's just ridiculous. That's what her mind decided on and that's what she'd remind herself. "Haven' had a girls night since me, Cleopatra, and Amelia Earhart saw Falsettos on it's fith openin' night. I didn' stand a chance." The Doc sighed, and Yaz chuckled. "Sometimes I forget how weird you are." She smiled. Little did she know that really the Doctor was just rambling on to keep her mind off of how nervous and infatuated she was. The car ride was silent except for the radio and the Doctors internal anxiety filled thoughts. She stares out the passenger side window, counting the rain drops that fell, only tearing her eyes and mind away to look at Yaz, beautiful, smart, Yaz, every time she said something.

"I like being drove around. I should do it more often. Feels nice bein' a passenger every once in awhile." The alien was really just trying to distract herself but this ended up leading to a interesting conversation.
"Hm, maybe you could teach me to fly the TARDIS one day then?" Yaz responded in a very playfully non serious way, but that question made the Doctor think. "Yeah maybe." The last person they taught to fly the TARDIS was River. Her wife. Huh. "But probably not. 'S not too safe for a human at all. Wouldn't want you getting hurt." The Doctor was so relentlessly sweet and wholesome, it was amazing.
Yaz sighed "Guess that makes sense. Bit disappointing though." They stopped at a red light so the companion turned to flash a wide eyed smile at the Doc. "But maybe I'm special."

"Oh Yasmin Khan, you're more than special." The alien giggled. Sure, that was a bit obvious but she said that stuff all the time to everyone, but she always meant it, this time she just meant it a extra whole lot.
"Whatever you say, Doc." The human turned back to face the road in front of her, not letting the smile leave her face. The Doctors face scrunched all up again, upsetted by the fact that this brilliant human being seemed to not think she was special. She decided however, not to say anything opposing that because she was worried she'd gush a little too much about how wonderfully special Yasmin Khan is.
