Chapter 1

I never thought this fateful day would come, the day were my life would be dominated and controlled by a werewolf.

The day before my mother was giving lessons on how to treat your mate. You should always ask permission when you go out. Don't wear makeup unless he tells you so. Don't talk to any males unless he's there with you. Don't wear any revealing clothing. Don't ever disobey your mate.

Like what the heck was this like in the 18th century or what? I could not fathom on the amount of rules that my mother was implementing on me and my poor sisters had diligently followed suit.

It goes on and on with the 'do nots'. Each don't my mother says, I see my freedom fading. She couldn't stop talking about how wonderful a mate could change your life. Not only did I had to listen to my mother, but my school also offered a class about mates. This class was a requirement to graduate, so I was forced to sit a year in that class.

My mother is a full werewolf whereas my father is a full human and guess who is the leader of the household? I had to follow my mother's rules and my father could not lift a finger to contradict her. I had a feeling that he did not like the rules that the mother had forced upon her daughters but there was nothing that he could do.

It is part of the reason why I felt resentment towards my father.

I woke up early morning to my mother, sisters, and nephews, singing Happy Birthday to me. Penny gave me a purple icing cupcake with a lit candle. Giving them an outstanding smile, I couldn't help but feel a tremendous fear consuming me. Realizing today was the day my life would be controlled by my mate. If I were "fortunate" to discover him.

I wished with all my heart to not locate him today or any other day. Even better, to never find him wherever he was.

After they finished singing, I blew out the candle and they cheerfully clapped. I accepted hugs and kisses from them and then my mother clapped her hands.

"Okay, we have a lot to do today. You know your duties in this house and get going!" My mother barked and off they went. I settled down back to my fluffy pillows closing my eyes.

"You too Eliza, you have to do the laundry." My mother said. I moaned in response rolling my side away from her.

"I'm serious Eliza this house needs to be clean and decent. Your relatives are coming for your birthday party." She scowled throwing the blankets off of me.

"Party?" I said jumping off my bed so fast I got dizzy.

"Yes of course you are having a party this might be the last time you will have time with family." My mother said throwing the blankets onto the floor.

"But-." I stuttered.

"No buts, start collecting the dirty clothes off this room." She snapped at me and with that, she stormed out of the room.

Since I had to share my bedroom with my nieces I had to do their laundry. Let me tell you their clothes are filthy it would take me forever to take out the stains.

Sighing in resignation, I collected the dirty clothes and marched downstairs. My sisters were in the middle of having a argument on who's turn to wash the dishes.

I shook my head at them, they were just dishes. What's so bad about just washing them?

Once I walked into the garage, where the washing machine was. I started to put my load on top of it until I saw a small neat wrapped purple present. I put my clothes on the floor to examine the gift.
