P R O L O G U E
Moving from state to state becomes the daily routine of the Clarks, and Aubrey hates it. She always end up leaving her friends and often attempt to find a new one, and when she finally made a circle of friends, her dad, Mr. Ferdinand Clark will be deployed to another unfamiliar places and then on the next day, Aubrey will see herself packing her things, saying goodbye to her friends, crying and leaving the city she already love.
Her dad's a cop and he is very dedicated to his job, he love his career the way he love his family. What Ferdinand says is what goes on. After staying in Denver for almost a year, they moved to Chicago. Aubrey find Chicago very nice, she made many friends there and her High School is something she feel happy about. But then again, Ferdinand's work is always at the bigger picture, he was sent to the lovely state of El Paso. After staying for half a year in Chicago, they moved to the "shitty" place Aubrey called which she wished it never exist on the map of USA.
El Paso is the home of big and tall pine trees, countless of mountains, long, narrow and peaceful road without any single car on it, cold, strong and wet wind. The houses are few kilometers far from one another; the sound of night is both relaxing and scary. From colorful and alive place like Chicago to a province-like El Paso, Aubrey didn't know how to adjust. She couldn't just accept the fact the they left their wonderful life in Chicago for the whole shit she can't even imagine. However, beneath the wonderful landscape El Paso offers, a secret is hiding. There will always be a secret hiding.
A life differs from humans, a life that's full of mystery. The life of the immortals.
