You woke up the next morning with a crick in your neck.
"Damnit, this always happens when I sleep on my right side." You rise out of your bed when stretch. Climbing out of the comfortable oasis that is your bed, you step onto the stiff carpet. You wrap your throw blanket around your shoulders before making a stride to your bathroom.
You peer into the mirror to see that you've accidentally slept with your mascara on and you look like a raccoon. You sigh before grabbing a couple of makeup wipes to fix your mistake. Unfortunately, you still faintly look like Star Fox. You handle your everyday hygiene routine and pull your hair into a loose ponytail.
You walk back into your room and sit on the edge of the bed. You put up your phone a look through the notifications.
Tons of spam from the big stan group chat. No need to check that.
Some old man offering to pay for my college tuition.... might need to look into that.
You must have gone through 20 new requests before reaching the bottom. A message of grandma_bertha at 11 am? You glance at the clock. It is now 3 pm. You shake your head at yourself for sleeping for 12 hours, but refocus your attention back to your phone.
"This must have been an accident," You thought. Either way, the suspense was killing you. You anxiously tap on the request and read the message that was waiting for you:
I saw your reply. Let's just say I enjoyed looking at your page. Where do you live? x
You read over the message again and again. Your thoughts were jumbled and you couldn't believe your eyes. You rose and rummaged through your drawer for your glasses. You read the message again before concluding that you went crazy overnight.
Regardless, you had to decide what you were gonna say back to keep his interest.
"I should just tell him that I'm in Texas. Wait no! I can't just send him a one-word reply or else I'll seem like I'm not interested. Maybe I could say Texas and then send a following up Texas asking him where he lives. Wait no I already know that. I can't double text or else I'll see desperate," Your thoughts collided with each other. You swallowed before deciding to send:
you: I live in Texas. I'm not a stalker or anything but I know you live in Mexico.
You could see that he was typing, so you waiting for him to finish.
alex: We're not that far away, but it's still a couple of hours by car to meet you.
He waited a few seconds before sending another message.
alex: Do you wanna facetime with me? I think that would better than trying to get to know you over text.
Your eyes widened. You rushed your way to the bathroom. You still looked like a raccoon and didn't want to make a bad first impression. Within seconds, you had taken out all of your makeup essentials. Curling your eyelashes with on hand and doing eyeliner with the other was difficult, but it was no match for you. You let your hair down and ran a comb through it.
You opened your curtain before finally sending him the call. You were practically hyperventilating from frantically running around your room, but you managed to catch your breath before the call connected.
And there he was before your eyes. You took in how stunning he was. You had never seen him without his hat, so seeing him with his messy bed hair made you all the more thrilled.

As soon as the call went through, I saw y/n. I couldn't help but smile at her beautiful she looked. The fact that she had an interest in me in the first place was shocking. I knew I couldn't just stare at her for the duration of the call, so I began talking.
"Hey y/n. You look amazing," I said with crimson dusting my cheeks. It was silent for a moment, but I noticed her cheeks change hues. I ran a hand through my hair out of awkwardness.
"Hey, Alex. You look amazing as well. I'm actually a little shocked because I've never seen you without some type of hat on," She said with a giggle.
"Should I put a beanie on?" I asked jokingly while reaching off camera to put up my signature LAFD beanie.
"Of course not. You look really cute without the beanie," She trailed off when looking down. There was a short silence.
"Sooo... What do you typically do for fun?" I questioned.
"I know I may seem lame, but I like to play Fortnite. I'm pretty wack at it, but it's fine trying to get better," Y/n began," If I'm not playing Fornite, I'm watching youtube videos."
"Come on y/n. Fortnite is fun and all, but you've gotta expand your horizons. I only play real games like Habbo and Club Penguin Island," I said sarcastically.
"I remember those raids. I loved #bissonmickey. That was one of my favorite streams," She said with a giggle. God, her laugh was so captivating.
"Maybe we could stream together. Or you could join a discord call with Brandon and the others," I tossed out some ideas. I watched closely as y/n looked up as she thought of how to respond.
"I would like that... but I'm not some groupie ok? I may not know much about you just yet, but don't think I'm only talking to you because of your status," She said seriously, which took me off guard. I never really thought about being used for popularity, but I realized that that's a possibility as I'm gaining recognition.
Suddenly, I hear someone call y/n from her room. It sounded like a woman, so I assumed it was her mom. Without a second thought, y/n looked into the camera.
"I'm sorry if what I just said made things awkward, but my mom is calling me. We'll chat soon, ok?" She said. She didn't even wait for my response before hanging up the phone. I smirked as the call faded away. As I replayed the call in my head, I prepared to stream.
~
Whew! I'm gonna try to make these chapters at least 1000 words each. I'm enjoying writing this so far, but you guys can feel free to suggest things to me. I'm not a brillant author with perfect storyboarding, so let me know if something feels off!
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed.
