It was dead quiet, about 2:40 am

Ember was spread like a starfish, all the covers thrown off the bed as his baggy t-shirt covered front laid open and his hair a mess above his head all over the pillow it was rested on

Shapirus was curled up in a ball, all the covers curled up with her which meant there was none left for Dakota who was still sound asleep , snoring his head off as a bit of drool dared to slip out of his pouty lips

Yui was laying in her stomach, her pastel blue booty shorts peaking out from the covers that were kicked down to her butt, her crappy stick and poke tattoo covered arms folded up above her head with her hair making her look like a cotton candy monster

Everyone was sound asleep until an ear piercing scream admitted into the air, it's high pitched sound echoing around the quiet neighborhood alerting everyone who had the chance to hear it

Yui was the first to wake, the noise startled her out of her dream, shattering the wonderful images of blueberry smoothies

She shot up causing the rest of her covers to fall into a puddle at the bottom of the bed

Her rushed footsteps shook the dirty ground of the house as she made her way to Embers room

She quickly opened his door only to find he was already awake, their eyes met momentarily just as another scream admitted into the air

"Call 911?" He asked her but she shook her head

"What if the person hears the sirens? They might kill whoever that is" she told him with that look Ember hates

"Oh don't give me that look" he pleaded but she only stared at him longer resulting in a protested groan and him fully stepping out of his comfortable bed

"Get your shoes on and grab your phone. I'll meet you outside" she told him in a hurry before spinning on her heals and rushing back down the hall to go put on her own shoes

Ember growled in frustration, fear racking his already anxious nerves

He grabbed the closest pair of pants before pulling them up over his lanky legs then stepped over to slip on a pair of vans

Once he was able to step outside he grabbed his phone and made his way to the front door, popping his head inside Shapirus and Dakota's room to make sure they were still in a peaceful sleep

As he was closing the splintered wood of the front door he spotted Yui who was stood not to far in front of him down the gravel drive way

The lights of other homes around the neighborhood could be seen shining through random windows in the homes, there was no sign of any people outside of them which made no sense to the two teens

"Maybe it was just some kids messing around" Ember suggested as he walked up behind Yui

"Maybe" she said quietly but quickly held up her hand to make him stay quiet

Two figures stumbled out into the street just then, one fairly taller than the other being the other was only about 5'1

It appeared the taller had his hand on the smaller figures back, rather aggressively shoving him down the paved road to the point of them tripping and falling down on there knees

The pained yelp could be heard echoing off of the buildings surrounding them

By now they were closer to both Yui and Ember so when Ember stepped on a twig in the drive way it caused the  taller figures head shoot up in their direction

"Seriously Ember" Yui angry whispered as they dived behind a near by bush

The crunching of the pebbles under the persons boots were also heard and another loud yelp bursted into the starry sky

"We have to do something" Ember said in a whisper as he pulled his phone out to dial 911

Yui quickly grabbed his phone from him and stuffed it in her hoodie

"Are you crazy?! He'll see you" she said before peaking through the bush to see the figures were both boys

The youngest barely even 17 if even that

"I'll create a distraction, you try and grab the youngest" she told Ember before her figure stood up and quickly rushed to the other side of the yard filled with dead grass

Ember panicked, trying to get her back but she shoved him off and pointed in the direction they were now headed in

The older boy now had his hand around the back of the younger boys neck, obviously inflicting pain into that area

As Ember made his way closer on shaky legs a light could be seen shining from the middle of the street

"Hey you!" Yui's high pitched voice shouted down the road

It made the shorter boy flinch and the taller boy turn around so quickly he most likely strained his neck

"Why don't you let him go" She told the taller one as she stepped a bit closer to him

"And why would I do that?" He questioned back, his smooth but husky

"Because he's not even your size, like come on man be smart at least" she said in a tone that stated she wasn't shocked in the slightest but rather very amused

The boy chuckled, his grip on the other tightening causing quiet whimper to admit from the shortest throat

"Who are you and why are you questioning my choices?" He barked now more aggressive than before

Ember had some how managed to sneak around the other side of them while Yui did indeed distract the man

"Because he's a teenage boy and you're a big ass man who's being a bit rude" she snapped at him, shining the light closer to his face

He lunged at her, yanking the boy with him which caused him to lose his balance again

Ember quickly grabbed him, carefully pulling him up before running back to the house with said boy

The man noticed the movement but instead kept stalking towards Yui

"Look what you did" the man snarled, you could almost imagine the foam forming around his bared teeth just like an angered wolf ready to attack

"You had no right to be even touching that boy" she practically growled back, the light shining from her phone closer to the mans face almost to the point of blinding him

He lunged at her again, his hands grazing her neck as his sharp finger nails dug slightly into the flesh of it

She screamed out in pain before punching him hard in the face, her phone falling to the ground while the man in front of her spit blood from his mouth

Just then Sirens split into the air, the ear piercing sound making the man freeze from wiping his face

A wide smirk spread onto Yui's face in victory,
But that victory was short lived because as she went to reach for her phone the man bolted

His sneakers digging into the paved road in a hurry, running away with a wicked smile spread across his face

His mad genius like laugh ringing out through the now mostly awake neighborhood

The sirens were getting louder, two fire trucks, an ambulance and many police cars all calling out at once

Yui stood back up, her phone no longer shining that bright light, blood falling down your collarbones in a slow river

She just stood there watching him run

"You'll regret this!" He screamed into the air as his figure got blurrier and blurrier

3:52 am

Everything was still again, just the flashing lights of blue and red
