The pageant starts, sa wakas libre na ako.
“Carly..” I tapped on my sister’s shoulder who was sitting with the panel of judges wearing her red long gown.
“Saan ka galing? Yung question ko, nagawa mo ba?” she panicked
“Oo, eto..” I slid the paper on her table.
“Teka, ngayon ko lang nakita na suot mo yan ah.” She said as she pointer her finger to what I was wearing.
“Hiniram ko lang kay Belle. Sige na.” nagmamadali ako’ng umalis para kitain ang bestfriend ko.
Belle and I met in front of the hotdog stall.
“Halika nga dito!” as soon as she saw me, she dragged me inside the girl’s washroom. “Girl, haggard na haggard na ang face mo! Have you ever heard of the word ‘retouch’?” mapanadya nitong tanong
“I was busy.” I sighed
She took out her pink makeup kit and started tapping my face with her foundation without my consent. Hinayaan ko nalang syang gawin ang gusto nya. I don’t have the energy to argue with her over makeup.
“Done. Looking fresh again.” She said as she admired her work on my face. Seriously, hinahayaan ko nalang na gawin akong manika ng kaibigan ko.
Isinama ko si Belle sa booth ng student council at doon muna kami tumambay watching the unending number of people passing by.
“So, Skyline U. won the game.” Belle abruptly said
“How did you—“
“Duh. I have friends who go there no. Kalat na sa FB ang balita.” She answered my unsaid question. “So let’s skipped that part and tell me about something interesting.”
“Like what?”
“Like that caught on screen televised flirting you and Riley did!”
I quickly covered Belle’s mouth with my hand, gesturing for her to quiet down.
“Paano mo nalaman yun?! And for your info, we were not flirting.” I corrected her
“May video kaya nun na naka post sa FB!”
