Anything she can carry?
What is she thinking?! She can't carry a sack of rice let alone a damn horse!
Upon hearing the approval of the bandit leader, Lady Jung looked at me for a split second before turning her eyes back to the leader.
What is that?
I saw something in her eyes. I can't quite determine what it was but there's definitely something about that split second glance.
She's up to something!
Lady Jung started walking towards the leader, gave him a polite bow then turned to face me. She started going towards my direction and all this time, keeping eye contact with me.
It's there again! That spark in her eyes! She's definitely up to something!
She stopped right in front of me.
"Trust me." she whispered so low that only I could hear. Then she grabbed my left arm and place it in her shoulder and slowly but carefully, I felt my feet leaving the soil I was standing on.
She is lifting me.
She's carrying me.
Lady Jung Krystal is freaking carrying my whole body!
I feel my whole body heating up. My face is probably so red right now. I can't believe what's happening.
I heard the laughter around us. How foolish we must look.
And the loudest of them all is from the leader. "Goodness! Comeback! I'll give you a horse!"
****
"Gawi, bawi, bo!"
We both chanted for the fourth time.
She frowns, eyeing at me suspiciously as our hands draw the same sign again. Paper.
"Are you reading my mind, Your Highness?"
I laughed. "I could say the same to you, Lady Jung." But in all honesty, I believe she just might be the most unpredictable person I have ever met. I could never in a million read her mind.
"Hmmm, I wonder what's running inside the mind of the future king."
"Probably wondering how on Earth did he end up being in the company of bandits as they celebrate their leader's birthday."
We looked around us. The bandits doesn't even pay much attention to us anymore. Almost half of them are drunk already which is a good thing because Lady Jung and I probably have heard enough of their adventure stories. Who would have thought that we'll be caught up in the middle of a bandit party?
"Where's the birthday celebrant?" Lady Jung asked, scanning the drunken dancing crowd.
"I think he disappeared upon the arrival of the bandit entertainers."
We looked at each other and just bursted to laughter.
Laughing had never felt this good.
The night continues. From rock-paper-scissors, our game turned into 20 questions.
"Tell me a secret." she boldly said.
"That's not a question."
"Well then, may I know a secret?"
"It wouldn't be a secret if I tell you."
"Oh just answer it!"
I laughed loudly. I think some of that alcoholic drink is kicking in.
