Fyre smiled tightly. "Very. You are definitely stronger than you look," he complimented.

"I don't look like much do I?" At 5"5' you can bet I wasn't that impressive. I believed I looked like the angry dwarf in Snow White most of the time. I think my most frightening feature was my stormy gray eyes. They had a tendency to changed to black sometimes.

"Yup. I learned that first hand," he grinned. Fyre took a look at my meagar arms. They weren't scrawny, but I was no Terminator.

I started walking aimlessly and Fyre followed. It was probably only a matter of time before I was called to the principal's office and then I would have to lie out of my ass. I checked the time on my cell phone. There was still a good twenty minutes of lunch then. If I didn't get in trouble by then I think I'd be clear.

"So what is with you and that girl?" He started the conversation. "Nice move, though, but what did she do or say? And what set off your long-lasting hatred for each other?"

"What makes you think that this has been going on for a while?" I defended for no reason. It was no secret. Just about everybody knew Cindy and I hated each other.

"Oh please, Vale." He used my name so formally and it bugged me. I barely knew this guy and I hardly even liked him if I did at all. "Nobody ever treats another person so harshly unless they have some shit in the past. So what happened?" How observant.

"Well, be more specific. Now or before?" I shrugged looking away.

"Let's do before."

I looked at him to see suddenly intense blue eyes. (I couldn't remember if I said Fyre's eye color already but they are now BLUE) His ice blue eyes really contrasted with his name.

"It's nothing really. Cindy, the bitch I slammed, had been bullying the new girl in elementary grade. That's Krystal, my best friend. I stood up for her in a way that caused Cindy minor embarrassment." Lie. People teased her and called her hotdick for the next three days. Evidently, she still wasn't over it, the baby. "She's given me hell ever since, but I made a friend that day and Krys and I practically sisters now, so it was worth it." I refrained from adding that I made my only friend.

I realized Fyre looked...almost sad for a moment. I couldn't place the emotion. I didn't bother asking him if anything was wrong.

"And now?" he pushed eagerly.

"Same reason." He looked confused. "Krystal," I elaborated. "Cindy pushed her and I snapped. No one touches Krystal."

His eyebrow raised, but he didn't say anything. We walked in silence throuh empty halls until we reached our school's ugly gym doors. I couldn't guess what he was thinking, but he looked thouhtful. I broke the silence.

"Why are you following me?" I demanded rudely. But seriously, he shouldn't even be able to stand being in the same room with me. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but I embarrassed him by dumping him out if his seat in front of the biology class. Great, way to start off the first day. He was forcibly removed from his seat by a girl.

Fyre just shrugged as if he didn't know himself.

"Well, you should get to class," I pressed.

"It's still lunch," was all he said.

"Go to lunch then. You haven't eaten have you?" I hadn't seen a tray on him when I ran out.

"Not hungry. And the girls here are annoying." Yup. Most of them were slutty whores just like Cindy. She practically had her arm around a new guy every week.

I have to admit, Fyre was pretty hot. All the girls would be all over him.

"So you don't screw everything that's female?" A little respect grew for him. Not much, though.
