Chapter two, Sunday April thirteenth, my birthday
I woke up in my room alone. It was ten a.m. and Dakota wasn't there. I thought he went home in the middle of the night, but his backpack was still here.
I quickly put on a pair of black jeans and a dark red shirt.
I walked down the stairs toward the kitchen to get breakfast. As soon as I walked into the kitchen Josh, Marry and Dakota yelled "Happy Birthday!"
"Awe, thanks you guys." I said giving them all hugs.
"No prob, sis. We got you the cake you've always wanted." Dakota said.
"The camo army one with the toy tank?" I asked.
"Yep. And we're throwing you a party later." Josh said.
"Oh my gosh. You guys are the best." I said.
Marry made me pancakes and bacon for brunch. It was delicious.
After burnch I went up to my room and cleaned it up. I was hoping that Tristan, Em and Syd would wany to stay with her and Dakota.
Today was a lazy day, so I sat on the couch watching television with Dakota and Josh. We watched Grim for three hours strait.
At two-thirty Marry told us to turn off the TV and help her set up for the party.
Finally at four we finished setting up and people started arriving.
The first people that showed up were Tristan, Em and Syd. Next came some of my friends- Log, Zac, Tia, Case, Anna, Jor, Nick and Kenndy. Then my other siblings showed up (I didn't even know that they came all the way from New Brunswick). Then came my other friends- More, Riley, Jared, Todd and John.
Once everyone was here we all hung out in the backyard that had two tables set up. One for the snacks/cake and one for the presents (even though I didn't ask for any).
We cranked up the radio and the party started. 'I like it like that' by Hot Chelle Rae came on the radio and everybody started dancing, no matter how stupid they looked.
I was having an awesome day until my mother showed up. At that moment all I wanted to do was punch her in the face, but I restrained myself.
"Happy birthday, sweetie." The witch of a mother said, hugging me.
"Thanks, mom." I said, awkwardly pulling out of the hug.
"Your welcome, sweetie." She said then walked away.
I walked up to Log and gave him a hug.
"She wasn't invited Scar, she just showed up." He said embracing the hug.
"Then why did she come? She knows I hate her." I said holding back tears.
"Because your her daughter, Scar." He looked at me and relized I was trying to hold back tears. "It's ok, Scar. I'll go get rid of her."
"Thanks, Log. Your the best." I said letting go of him.
"What are friends for?" He said smiling. Then he walked towards my mother.
I didn't want to see what would happen so I went to go talk to Josh.
"What is Log doing?" He asked.
"Oh, just getting rid of my mother." I said like it was the best thing in the world, which of course in my mind, it was.
"Well, thats good." He said looking somewhere behind me.
