Chapter 9

Normani POV:

Dinah's officially been in the hospital for 2 weeks. She had major inflammation to the brain and they had to make her brain dead in order for it to go down.

"I can't believe I let this happen." I said to Ryan

"Girl, why would Lauren just shoot Dinah?"

"It's a long story.." I said not wanting to talk about it.

"We've got time." She said with a chuckle.

So I started from the beginning of how Lauren's dad got deported and she blames me for something I can't control, but something seemed off about it.

"Why did you tell me earlier? I would've been got the bitch!"

"It's okay, I just want Dinah back."

"I can tell, you must really love her. You can see it in your eyes. Why don't you just ask her to be your girlfriend already, what are you waiting on?"

"I don't know, everything just keeps getting in the way,like the universe doesn't want it to happen. I also don't know if it what she wants"

"You mean to tell me, how many times she's told you that she's loved you, you think she doesn't know? Are you sure it's not you who doesn't know?"

I never thought about it that way, what if it is me just being confused? I don't wanna lead her on.

"Maybe.." I said looking at Ryan with sadness.

"It's okay, but I think you really need to think about it before you try to pursue something with her." Ryan said giving me a supportive nod and heading out the door.

I went over to Dinah and picked up her hand, feeling her hand in mine felt great. But not how it normally is, it's just like a lifeless hold. I start to tear up thinking about it.

"I'm so sorry I did this to you."

"You didn't." Her raspy voice said so angelic like.

"Dinah.." I said with slight sadness but also excitement.

"Your beautiful sight to wake up to." She said making blush deeply.

"Stop making me blush."

" it's my job babygirl. But if you don't mind calling someone in here for some pain killers or something."

"Sure thing."

The nurse came in and asked Dinah how she was feeling and gave her some medicine for her pain. But she was slightly flirting with her and looking at her how I look at her.

"Okay I'll see you ladies later! Bye Dinah Jane." She tossed a wink on her way out.

"I think we should talk.." I said with a slight annoyance in my voice die to the nurse.

"Okay, what about?"

"Us."

"Alright, let's talk."

" I think we shouldn't be in contact for a little while."

"Why?" She said all to calmly but I see her choke back tears.

"I don't wanna lead you on, because I don't know what I want."

"Okay." Was all she said

"Okay? Do you not care or something?" I said slightly angry that she reacted the way she did.

"I'm just saying okay because that's what you want, if I keep on talking it's gonna raise hell and we're both gonna end up upset. I love you and wish you the best."
