"I don't think we're going to get anymore intel from here, I recommend going to the next location." Cedric said over their silent morning coffee. She ran her tongue over her teeth and nodded. Since that first day they've stayed nearly silent except for a few exchanges pertinent to the investigation.

They drove to a hotel near another incident. This one occurred over a few days.Cedric knew this was a spirit, a mischievous one. All the injuries that had occur are accidental. Mostly the muggle over reacting and hurting themselves. The location jumping is what was puzzling him.

"We're here." She mumbled as she parked the car in front of a small hotel. He looked up from the notes and nod as she got out in a huff.

He followed her in and talk to the clerk. He handed her a key and she went to leave. Quickly he grabbed her arm garnering her immediate anger. Cedric roll his eyes and let go.

"I need to discuss something with you. Come have dinner with me." It was a command instead of a request but he was tired of tip toeing around her.

She nodded and stormed off without another word. He took a quick shower and changed into the least dirty clothes He had in his bag. There was a small dining area and he sat waiting for her.

"What do you want pretty boy?" She asked as she begrudgingly sat down in front of him.

"I would ask what your problem with me is but honestly I don't care." A waiter came by and he order her salad she always get with no carrots and vinegar and oil. He order soup and the waiter leaves us. She was glaring at him.

"Why did you order for me. I am perfectly capable of ordering for myself." She looked like she was going to throw something at him.

"And what were you going to order?" Cedric asked ignoring her hostile attitude. She bit her lips and glared even more.

"That's besides the point." She was close to yelling.

"Hermione, we're in a wizarding hotel, unfortunately I'm still rather famous so everyone will talk to me first. I was just saving time. The sooner we eat the sooner we can part ways for the evening." The waiter returned and he order roast chicken for her and again she began glaring.

"How did you know that's what I wanted?" She sounded less hostile this time.

"Because you ate red meat last night, so tonight you'd eat white meat. You said quail makes you sad so you always get roast chicken." He wasn't hungry so he stirred his soup around.

"I said that at the dinner for the champions all those years ago. And that was to Viktor." She whispered and cocked her head at me like she was studying me.

"I'm good at remembering things." Was all he could say. Honestly he didn't know why he remember. After she nodded they both stared at the table silently daring the other one to speak first.

"Why did you invite me to dinner Cedric?" She finally asked when the waiter brought their food.

"We can't keep fighting Hermione. Nothing will be resolved if we're always at each other's throats" He says still stirring his soup. She nodded moving her salad around her plate.

"I know." She finally whispered as the waiter took our still full dishes away.

"We'll leave in the morning. I need to do some more research. If there's another disturbance we'll investigate it." He added after they stared at their plates for entirely to long.

After she nodded and continued to stare at her plate. He wave the waiter over to us.

"Can you please bring the check?" Cedric ask and the waiter disappears again. "I'm paying for dinner and I really don't feel like arguing about it. Hermione I'm tired, just so tired of this animosity."

He pays the check and she sits in silence looking at him. With a small nod he stood up and excused myself from the table. After checking with the front desk to see if he received an owl he went to his room. She was standing by his door twisting her hands. Cedric could see the internal debate she was having with herself about knocking.

"Anything I can help you with Hermione?" He says quietly as I approached her. She spun quickly and almost collided with him.

"Merlin, you scared me." She said as he held her elbows to keep her from falling over. " I came to apologize, my behavior has not been professional and for that I am sorry."

It was a half hearted apology but he'll take it. With a light chuckle he scratches his head and give her a small smile. After giving her a nod he open my door and she smiles as she leaves.

The next morning he make his way to the floo after checking with the front desk again. Hermione was waiting by the floo for me.

"Good morning Hermione. You didn't have to wait for me. I'll see you in the office Monday ." Cedric says politely and she looks surprised.

"You were serious about going home, I thought you wanted to go investigate somewhere else?" She sounded almost disappointed.

"No Hermione go home, there's nothing we can do until there's a new report. I heard your friend is having a Halloween party this weekend. Should be fun." He gives her a half smile and she shrugs.

"You sure, I already told Draco I couldn't make it?" She was nearly bouncing on her toes waiting his answer.

"Yeah, have fun." He used the floo and arrived to an empty flat.
