I use the back door, which leads directly into the kitchen, when I get home from the library. Its only past six and its already really dark outside. I turn the lights on with a smile; I am really happy about the amount of work I did at the library. Since I've done quite a lot I can have an almost free weekend.

"Hog!" my dad's voice cuts through the air, "Hog is that you?"

"Frank?" I answer his call.

"Why are you in so late? Do you have a boyfriend or something, Hog?" he slurs his words as he walks into the kitchen. I can smell the alcohol on his breath. "Can an ugly thing like you get a boyfriend, Hog?" he laughs.

"What do you want Frank?" I look at his dark eyes, similar to mine. Identical even.

"I want some bloody food, what's with you taking your bloody time to get back here. I nearly starved to death."  he slurs some more before flopping into a chair on the island.

"Why didn't you buy yourself something when you went to go buy drinks?" I fold my arms.

"I didn't buy...I didn't go buy drinks, you left these for me." his grin is gummy and his thick saliva stretches in threads all over his mouth.

"I didn't buy you alcohol Frank, I'm 17 its illegal."

"I don't care Hog, I want some food." he bangs his fist on the island.  It's not scary or intimidating, it's sad and child like.

"There isn't any food Frank." I breathe out calmly and my own stomach realises the truth.

"Go buy some."

"There is no money."

"You liar, " he bangs on the island again," the Daies' send money every month, what did you do to that money?" he points accusingly at me. " Your rich family who loves you so much sends money, where is it?"

"I paid the bills Frank. The house, cars, school, water and electricity, insurance, and I bought food and cleaning things like I do every month. And like you do every month you took the rest and gambled it away. You drank the rest right after you made sure to eat like there'd be an up coming hurricane!" I don't even realise the tone my voice has taken towards the end, I am practically shouting at him.

"You little liar Hog, there is more money. There is always more money!" he shouts back.

We glare at each other. His eyes begin to look droopy and I can see its taking a lot for him to keep his glare up. This is childish.  I shake my head and push past him " I'll call aunt May for money tomorrow, right now you'll have to survive on your drinks." I say as I walk out the door.

"Hog!" I'm half way up the stairs when he calls me. I stop and turn my head to see his droopy self leaning on the wall at the begining of the stairs. "You know they don't love you. The Daies, your rich loving family doesn't really love you. If they loved you they would have taken you from me years ago." he is smiling like a hyena. I feel my stomach twist a little but I shake it off.

"But no one wants a Hog!" he carries on laughing as he swings a bottle of vodka.

"Why don't you come play in the pool Francisco?" Amy Tyson waves me in.

I shake my head at her. I don't want to swim. I want to go home. I usually like swimming at Amy Tyson's house but today I just want to go home. But mom said that I had to sleep over here today. She said she'd fetch me first thing tomorrow morning so I just have to wait until then.

I smile at Amy ," I'll just sit here and watch." . Amy is smart for a seven year old and I can see her study my face but within a few seconds she shrugs and dives back in.
