Chapter 8
Dominics Pov
After Kody got Amelia up, we went to IKEA. While in the car Kody plugged his phone into the stereo. “Let it go, let it goooooo. Can’t hold it back anymore!” He quickly turned the Frozen soundtrack off.
“So, I guess someone likes Frozen here,” I said.
“Shut up, it's my nieces”
“Bro, your youngest niece is 12, and the oldest is 17”
He ignored that comment and just stared forward. I thought now would be the perfect time to piss him off. So I give him a wet willy.
“Ah what the fuck! Bro I hate you...” He didn’t get to finish because there was an incoming call.
“Kody can you grab my phone?” Amelia asked.
“Sure!” He responded. Instead of answering it, it just sat in his hand.
“ANSWER THE PHONE YOU IDIOT!!!!” She screamed.
For the next 10 minutes, the only things we heard were “Yes, no, good, Mhmm” and the occasional “That is fine”
“By the way, Lacey is off for summer break. She will be at our house tomorrow.” Kody said.
“We better buy 2 room sets today if that's happening” Amelia responded. For the rest of our ride, it was pretty normal.
As soon as we walked into the store Kody started screaming and running toward the beds. We walked past the manager and both of us said at the same time
“Sorry about our 5-year-old son, it's his first time in IKEA.”
The manager just shook his head and walked away. Amelia and I looked at each other in complete shock. She walked away mumbling to herself.
Amelia’s Pov.
Well, I just said ‘Our child’ with Dominic. I could have easily said ‘My child’ but no, I had to say ours. A really nice couch was begging to be sat on. It looked comfortable and it was practically screaming “SIT ON ME.” I knew I should have been looking for furniture but Snapchat was just so amazing. After a good hour, I heard a scream. I quickly stood up to look around.
“That sounded like Kody’s scream!” I said to myself. I jumped up and followed the scream.
I heard another scream. But this time it wasn't Kody. It was mine.
Why am I screaming? I wondered. Then out of nowhere, Kody said,
“Lacey…. She's in the hospital. She got into an accident. She won’t be coming tomorrow. I need to go get details.”
