Gray, Zach and Erica (Zach's "girlfriend") get off the cruise that took them to Isla Nublar. When they come down there is Zara, Claire's personal assistant, with her daughter Katherine. He takes them to the hotel, helps them with their bags and says:

Owen Grady, a Navy veteran, has been investigating the intelligence of Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo, the park's four velociraptors. The head of security of InGen, Vic Hoskins, thinks that the raptores must be trained for military use in spite of the objections of Owen. Masrani has Owen evaluate the site of the park's new hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus rex, before its attraction is open to the public. Owen warns Claire about the danger of raising the Indominus in isolation, signaling her lack of socialization with other animals. When they discover that the Indominus seems to have escaped, Owen and two companions enter the compound. Capable of camouflaging and masking its heat sensor, the Indominus suddenly appears and devours Owen's companions before escaping into the interior of the island. Owen suggests that the Indominus must be killed, but instead, Masrani sends a specialized unit equipped with non-lethal weapons to capture it. After most of the unit is killed by the dinosaur, Claire orders the evacuation of the northern sector of the island. Claire instantly says:

-Damn the one who did not tell me that this could happen! - He frowns.

While exploring the park on a girósfera walk, Zach tells Katherine that he will nickname "Katie". Children enter a restricted area. The Indominus finds them and destroys their girósfera, but the children manage to evade it and find the ruins of the original visitor center of Jurassic Park. Instantly says Erica:

Gray starts laughing, they walk for a while and find a 1992 Jeep Wrangler and return to the park complex. Masrani and two soldiers hunt the Indominus by helicopter, but when the Indominus bursts into the park's aviary to escape the firing, it releases a flock of Pteranodones and Dimorphodones that collide with the helicopter, causing it to fall, killing Masrani and his troop. Pterosaurs attack the park itself; In the chaos, Zara and Erica are kidnapped by the pterosaurs before falling into the park's lagoon and being inadvertently devoured by the park's Mosasaurus. Zach, Gray and Katie finally find Owen and Claire in the complex while armed park staff subdue the pterosaurs with tranquilizers.

Assuming the command, Hoskins orders that the raptors be used to track the Indominus; Owen is forced to accept Hoskins' plan and free his captors. When encountering the Indominus, the dinosaurs begin to communicate with each other. Owen realizes that the Indominus has raptor DNA, causing it to become the new alpha of the raptor pack, taking away Owen's command. The Indominus escapes when the troops shoot at him, but Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo hunt and kill the majority of the team. Hoskins arranges for Dr. Henry Wu to leave the island in a helicopter with the dinosaur embryos, in order to protect his research. Owen, Claire and the children find Hoskins in the lab, with more staff packing the remaining embryos. Hoskins reveals his plans to create other hybrid dinosaurs like the Indominus rex for use as super weapons, but Delta bursts into the laboratory and kills him.

Owen reestablishes his link with the raptors before the Indominus appears. Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo attack the Indominus, but Charlie, Delta and Echo are quickly killed. Claire attracts Tyrannosaurus rex from the park to face the Indominus. Both dinosaurs fight, with the Indominus winning the fight until Blue, revealing to have survived, joins the Tyrannosaurus to avenge the death of their fellow raptors. Cornered, the Indominus retreats to the lagoon, where the Mosasaurus jumps to the surface and drags it underwater, eventually killing it. The Tyrannosaurus retires, followed by Blue, who returns to recognize Owen before leaving. Once again, Nublar Island is abandoned, and survivors are successfully evacuated to the mainland. Zach and Gray meet with their parents, Zach gives a final kiss to Katie and Zach's mother and Gray tells Claire to take Katherine to the guys' home, Claire accepts, everyone finally evacuates the island. While the Tyrannosaurus wanders freely around the island before giving a final roar.
