"People cry not because they're weak, but because they have been strong for too long." - Anonymous

The InfirmaryArtemis' POV
"You're regenerating ability is kicking in. You'll be as good as new in three days." I mused, patting Cara lightly on her shoulder.
"Three days, really?!" She groaned, clearly unamused. I have a feeling she doesn't want to be kept immobile longer than necessary.
Like she doesn't want to be caught.
"You need to restore your health, and whatever or whoever's chasing you won't find you here." Her eyes narrowed as she stared at me, assessing whether I knew more than I let on. Her gaze continued to pry silently, making me chuckle inwardly. "I've been on the run too - I still am, but when you have a royal beside you I can guarantee you're in the safest place."
"How do you know I was being chased? Accidents do happen, dear." She grumbled in denial.
"Please," I winked, "I know a haunted look when I see one. And yes, accidents do happen. However, isn't it strange for an archangel to have one? Especially if some of her wounds aren't from the fall."
She rolled her eyes, "You're too smart and it's annoying, trust me."
I raised an eyebrow, "That's a first."
"You being smart?"
"No, me being annoying."
She chuckled, relaxing. "What did you tell them?" She asked referring to our earlier discussion.
"Nothing you wouldn't like." She nodded appreciatively at my answer. Whatever this girl have been through must be hard. And I have a firsthand experience that it needs time for someone to heal before sharing a bad experience - to the right person and at the right moment.
Heaven accompanied me when I went here, Fyrrah and Alessio remained in the White Castle because Fyrrah's having another tantrum. Apparently, she saw General Colson and wanted to dress him up as a girl. Colson can't say no to a queen but Alessio can't allow a strange man dressing up in front of his pregnant mate. There were growls early in the morning, and for the first time Alessio doesn't know what to do.
May Fyrrah's wrath be lifted upon the Alpha King.
That is until Heaven can't take it anymore and decided for them both, I almost cried laughing at what he said.
"Why don't you dress up Alessio instead? You can do what you want and Alessio won't have to worry about a stranger being close to you. That way you'll both get what you want."
Talking a pregnant she-dragon out of something seems impossible but Fyrrah thought that's the best idea ever. To make the long story short, she's dolling up her helpless mate back at the castle.
Look at what you can do, Love.
The doors to the infirmary opened and I was pulled out of my thoughts when Heaven and Alexander walked in side by side, engaged in hushed whispers. The worry I can feel through the bond made me nervous.
Did something happen?
When they reached our area Heaven kneeled in front of where I was sitting, taking both of my hands in his.
"The White Castle is under attack. I have to go back, love."
My heartrate increased, "I'm done here, we can still arrive in time to help." I moved to pack up my things but he didn't let go of my hands.
"No, love. I want you to stay here, where it's safe. I'm the only one heading back."
"No," I said in tears, "I want to help."
He smiled, kissing me softly on the forehead. "Knowing you're safe will help, a lot. I'll be back to get you personally when it's all settled." I nodded as he stood and tapped Alexander on his shoulder, "Trust no one her safety, no one knows she's here aside from the royals."
After a few words he left the estate in his Aguila form, not bothering to use the car. I stayed with Cara in the infirmary together with Alexander who inquired about her health. Even though they tried keeping my thoughts from wandering off, it still goes back to the thought of Fyrrah, Alessio, Colson and Heaven fighting off the necromancers and their soul feeders. I really hope they're all fine.

"You need to sleep, Art. I'll wake you up when he arrives." Alex brought some blankets and made me lie down on the bed beside Cara's. It's already past midnight, yet still no sign of Heaven. Cara's already asleep, and Alexander sat on the chair beside her comfortably.
"I can't help but worry. I know he's strong and all but they have the number. Our men will also suffer."
Alexander sighed, "That man is the epitome of death but he cares about his men. They'll be fine. His vortex will wipe out all of those necros chasing after you." He looked into my eyes and as his eyes glowed green I felt my own slowly closing. Like a wave of calmness washing through me, I drifted off to sleep.
I stirred when I felt the familiar sparks dancing on my skin. Lips enclosed mine and I instantly opened my eyes, tearing up at the sight of Heaven hovering above me.
"You're back," I said, pulling him down for another kiss. "I was so worried about all of you."
"Everyone's fine. You actually helped, in a way, because Professor Grim rummaged through your things and broke a vial of ward spell powerful enough to keep them at bay. We took them down right away. Like lightning."
I giggled when he growled playfully on my neck, "Getting cocky, aren't we?"
My face flushed when I heard clearing of throats around us, I looked around to see Alessio and Fyrrah smirking to the side and Alexander awkwardly standing beside Cara's bed who was smiling teasingly at us.
"Isn't it too early to release all your sweetness?" Fyrrah asked with a wicked grin.
"Shut up, Draconia." I grumbled, pulling Heaven down beside me. He only chuckled, running his fingers through my hair.
"Are you sure you don't want to come back with us, Art? My offer still stand." Alessio tried convincing me again earning a growl from Heaven.
"I'll vacuum you out of here if you ask her that again." He warned playfully.
Alessio grinned, "Just kidding."
Everyone laughed at that and Alexander made us come down for breakfast. Before that Cara retracted her wings, which is a beautiful sight to see. It's healed enough to be closed. Alexander assisted her and helped feeding her. The care that I see in his eyes as he held her made me realize that he, Alessio and Heaven are the same.
They are true kings.
