2 - SUNNIE

I killed a part of me to keep you alive.

When you are expecting a child it's really hard to find a name, and when you are expecting twins it's even harder. Your mom always wanted to have a girl, and she wanted to choose her name even more. You don't really know the reason why but it was one of her dream, she wanted something original who will defines her daughter, you.
Obviously, your parents decided that your mom would choose a name for you, and your father would choose a name for your brother, because it was easier than choosing a name together for each babies.
And even if one of them didn't like the name the other had chosen, it was like this and not otherwise.
Your mom choose Sunnie, because you and your brother are born on August on a sunny day, you're the sun and he's the moon since day one. She puts "ie" instead of "y" because her name ends with "ie" too. Your dad hated that name the second he heard it and you totally understand why because you hate it too, you don't know why you hate it but maybe one day you'll know.
So he called you Sun, he said you were his little ray of sun, it's better than nothing. Maybe you hate your name but you're glad he didn't have a say, because, because of him your brother's name is Jughead. You don't even know where he found this, how this name had pop up in his head? You don't really think you want to know the reason one day. You know your name is weird but your brother's name is worse. Names are really unpredictable in the Jones' family, it's kind of your heritage probably.

When you and your brother were 3 days you went back with your parents at the place you were going to live, your trailer, in Sunnyside Trailer Park. Your parents were born and raised in the Southside of Riverdale, and now it was your turn. Even if a lots of people think it's the worst place in Riverdale to live and to have a family, it was your place, for Jug and you. And it will always be.

When you were 7, you met Archibald Andrews, also known as Archie, and you grew up with him and your twin. All the time when you were together was the best time in your life, because you were always laughing and playing games that you invented. It was also the best time because you were far away from home. Your parents were always yelling at each other, throwing stuff in the trailer and you and Jug didn't really understand the reasons. During the day if you weren't with Archie, because he was punished or something, you were in your tree house, waiting for the day to pass so both of you could finally go home. You two did this to avoid seeing your parents shouting all day.

At 12, your mom died. She was tired of life, she attempted suicide. Your dad found her. It was one of the worst day in your life. There is no mourning, you remember, and you will always remember everything. In the smallest details. You didn't just lose someone that were important for you, you also lost yourself. Even if you two weren't really close she was still your mom. And you've never thought it would have been this hard to lose her. You tried your best to not think about her, or to not have something that made you think of her, but, her name was Rosie, so it was already impossible, the roses will always remind you of her. When you see roses you just want to cry, because she's a faded rose now.

After her death Jug became closer with Archie and they were always together, so you just stepped back and you did your own stuff, with yourself. Because you don't wanted to be the one between them, you think to find happiness again he needed to be with Archie, and only Archie. You killed a part of you to keep him alive.

You think he really needed someone who wasn't from his family. He needed someone who will understand him and you're glad he found this someone in Archie. But you, you didn't have anyone anymore. You were always with them so you didn't have any other friends, you were alone. You can't blame them because it was the circonstances that made all this happen, but you needed someone as much as Jughead. You tried to be this someone, that's why you became a lonely child.

One day, you needed to do something, Jug wasn't here, and your dad was already drunk, lying on the couch. That's the day when you started to draw because you don't wanted to think about your mom. You don't wanted to cry another day, you knew if you started crying you would never stop, so you just drew all the things that you could. A few weeks later with all the strength that was still in you, you decided to draw your mom because you wanted to have a memory of her, of her face. You started crying because you couldn't remember your mother's face, you wanted to draw her but you couldn't. So you found an alternative, you drew roses.

When you and Jug had to choose in which high school you were going to, for you it was obvious you were going to Southside High, because it's where you come from. In the summer break before going to your new high school you became a Serpent, but Jughead didn't wanted to become one. He said that he didn't wanted to be like your dad. He also went to Riverdale High, with all the Northsiders, maybe because he wanted to be in the same high school as Archie. It was all his choice, you two think differently so you didn't say anything. The moon and the sun.

At 15 years old he started writing articles for the Blue and Gold with Elizabeth Cooper, and they started getting closer and closer, hanging out with Archie and Veronica. Little by little they realized that they had feelings for each other, and one day Jug kissed her, that's how they ended up together. When he told you this story he was so happy, you still can see the smile on his face.

When you were in the beginning of your junior year, Southside High got shut down, and obviously you had to go to the only other high school left in Riverdale, Riverdale High.
And that's how your story begins..
