I would hate you if I could.

SHE'S THE ONE
It is almost 7PM, you're in your dad's truck on the way to Pop's you're pensive and anxious, you don't know what to expect. Cheryl normally isn't as nice to people, but the fact that she fixed what Ginger and Tina had done makes you smile, so you want to give her a chance. You're sure deep down she's a good person but she's been through things that keep her from being herself. Or maybe you're wrong, your problem is you always want to see the good in everyone, but some people are just bad and nothing is good. You hope it's not the case for Cheryl.

When you arrived at Pop's you saw Cheryl, she is sitting at a table alone, looking at her phone. She is even more beautiful than the first time you saw her. For you she radiates even more than the neon lights of the diner. You entered Pop's and you went to join her at the table, you sit on the opposite booth.

– Hey Cherry, you were waiting for me?

– Hey Sun, yes I was. — The red-haired girl said with a smirk.

– Wow you already know my name and you also gave me a nickname, funny. — You say to her with a nervous laugh.

– Yeah, Betty told me yesterday. Sunnie. That's a cute name. — Her cheeks are red. She looks at her hands with a smile, she's playing with her ring. Looks like Cheryl Blossom is nervous.

– Sooo you wanted to talk to me or something? Because it's kinda weird, Cheryl Blossom who wants to meet a Southside scum at Pop's? For no reason?

– Well, in fact I wanted to apologize for what Tina and Ginger did to you. And I have to confess, I wanted to get a chance to know you, you seem nice for a Southside scum, as you said.

– You said this first at school Cherry. And don't apologize for what they did, you've already done enough by fixing my drawing book. And, actually, I should be the one apologizing because it's kinda creepy for you. Someone you don't know, who's drawing you.. Personally, I think I would be scared.

– Aha yeah, maybe you're right. I should think you're creepy, but I don't think you are. And, your drawing is really good so I just felt embarrassed but in a good way. It's like an honor for me to be drew by someone who has this gift. Especially when you could've drawn anyone else. — Her cheeks are red, she looks at you with bright eyes. Her eyes are so beautiful, it's like a light brown with sparkles in it.

She ordered two strawberry milkshakes, and insisted she was gonna pay for both. You were here, talking with a stranger who wasn't really a stranger for you, from minutes to minutes it was like you knew her since forever. You two were talking about everything and nothing at the same time. For the people in Pop's it was like two old friends talking to each other after a long time. You feel like she's the one who makes you happy, and the one who will keep making you happy. It's been only 2 hours but it seems like 10 minutes, you just wanna be here forever. With her you feel all kinds of emotions, sensations, that you never felt with anyone else. Your heart beats faster, you giggle for stupid things, and you just forget everything around you. It's just you and her. For the first time since years you feel warmth, happiness, you feel like you finally find yourself. It's still confused in your head. How can one person, in one evening, make you feel all these things? You want to know everything about her. All the things that makes her laugh, makes her smile, all the things that makes her cry, what makes her sad, all the things that annoys her, how her smile is formed when she is happy, how she is at 4pm and at 4am, how she is when she gets dressed, how she is when she undresses, you want to know everything about her. For the space of a moment, it was you, it was her, it was two girls in a diner laughing, and damn, it was beautiful. It was like a romantic scene in slow motion in an old movie.
But then Reggie came. He was like a storm in our colorful day. And when Cheryl sees him she stops smiling, she stops laughing, and she becomes the same bitchy girl that she was at school on the day that you met her.
