I wake up the next morning, and I'm cuddled up next to Ezra. I smile into his chest, and I let out a cough. I'm definitely still sick, but I feel slightly better.
My cough wakes Ezra, and he stirs beside me.
"Good morning, beautiful," he smiles, his voice husky.
His morning voice is my favorite.
"Good morning," I smile.
He kisses my forehead.
"Feeling any better?" he asks.
"A little. Are you feeling sick yet?" I ask.
"Not yet, but it will probably come. It was worth it though," he smiles.
"Well, when it does, you can have some of my medicine," I laugh.
"Why thank you," he smirks.
I get up, put on my robe, and I make my way into the kitchen. I take my medicine, and Ezra wraps his arms around me from behind.
"What would you like for breakfast?" he asks.
"Whatever you're making," I smile, leaning back into his chest.
The doorbell abruptly rings.
"I wonder who that is," I frown.
I walk to the door, and I open it. Lucy is standing in front of me, and she doesn't look too happy.
"Lucy?" I ask.
"Hey Jo. Is Ezra here?" she asks, her brows furrowed.
I turn around, and I see that Ezra has hidden.
"Here? No, he's not," I lie.
Why is Lucy here?
"He said he was checking in on you."
I am so thankful his truck is parked out back.
"He did last night, but he left shortly after. I think he mentioned something about going to Ricky's or Clay's? I'm sorry, I'm just not sure," I frown.
"Thanks anyway. By the way, I hope you feel better soon," she says, giving me a small grin.
She turns around to walk away, and I shut the door behind her.
"You're still with her?" I practically scream once she leaves my driveway.
"I was going to tell her-"
"Oh my God. You didn't though!" I scream.
"Jo, I'm-"
"I'm a homewrecker! Ezra, what the hell?!"
"Jo, slow down. I'm going to tell her," Ezra says.
"You know how I felt when Ricky cheated on me! I can't believe this," I shake my head.
Ezra stares at me, not knowing what to say.
"I just assumed you two weren't together anymore. How stupid of me," I say, mainly talking to myself.
"Jo, I'm sorry. Please, let me make this right," Ezra begs.
"Ezra just leave. Last night was a mistake," I say, even though I'm lying.
I just need a way to get him out as fast as possible.
"Don't push me away again," Ezra pleads.
"Out," I say, even though my heart says stay.
"What about that doctor? Aren't you doing the same thing to him?" Ezra scowls.
I don't say anything, because I don't want him to know that Andy and I were just trying to make Ezra jealous.
