Kate looked behind her shoulder for the last time. Her father had his arms around her sister and mother, who was quietly crying. With a small smile she boarded the plane. "This is the right thing for me", she thought. As she settled into her seat and prepped for the 8 hour flight the attendant spoke over the loudspeaker. "Thank you for flying with Air France this evening. We are looking to arrive in the city of love at about 6 am French time. We hope you enjoy your flight with us, and just sit back and relax! We'll be there before you know it!"
One year ago Kate never would have dreamed of flying to France to start her new journey. In fact, one year ago she was still deciding what on earth she was going to do after college. She knew she wanted to leave. Not just her house or her town. Not just the city or the state. Kate decided it was time to leave the country. To go explore things she had never experienced before. And with the help of her parents money, she was going to be able to do that.
<8 hours later>
A female voice seemed to be seeping into Kate's head. Crankily, she opened up her eyes. "Miss? We've arrived in Paris, and we need to start prepping the flight for the incoming passengers." Drowsily Kate stood up, nodded to the flight attendant, and walked down the aisle.
