The sweet and the bitter- ch. 6

Ok so I didn't really think it would be that long of a chapter but I was wrong.. 1,800+ words not including this... sorry my bad. Anyway carry on with the story!

Lucy's pov:
I hear yelling, crying, and anger? I want to open my eyes and see what was happening, but every time I tried it was still pitch black. I sat down and started to cry, started to cry for my mom, my step dad, Gajeel, and even Natsu. I want to hug my mom and step dad again, I want to hug Gajeel again. I just want to see my family, but the only person left in my life is Gajeel. He has been there for me for so long. I always saw he was hurting to though I just couldn't say anything.
I hear a pumping noise in the distance and I look around. I saw a light? I stand up with a happy smile on my face and start to run towards it.
Yes! This could be my way out! I was about to reach the light when something blocked the way. I immediately stop and look to see who it was. My eyes widen at what I saw... "no way.. it can't be. MAMA!" I run to her and hug her. She hugged me back and I cry. "Mom! I missed you so much! Why? Why did you leave me?" She pats my head "shhh.. I'm sorry Lucy but it was my time. My time to go." I step back and look at her "where's dad?" "He's in the light" I didn't waist any time, I grabbed her wrist and start to run for the light again "then let's go see him! I want to see dad!" I yell happily.
"LUCY NO! DON'T TOUGHT THE LIGHT!" My hand was only an inch away from the light. Mom pulled me away causing me to fall on the ground hard. "Oooww.." "crap Lucy! Are you ok? I didn't mean to!" Mom yelled frantically. I nod and look at the light "why can't I touch it?" She looked away from me "because if you touch that light even only a little bit, you are taken away from the real world." I look at her confused "what do you mean?" "I mean you can die if your still alive in the real world. That light will take you to heaven. You won't be able to see Gajeel again or none of your friends again." I look down "or Natsu... mom?" "Yes?"
"I want to go back! I want to be with Gajeel, all of my friends. I can't leave Natsu by himself! I heard him say his parents left him and died. I heard everything he said. I can't do that to him as well. I'm sorry, but I love you.. I love you so much!" I hug her one last time then I saw a blur.

Natsu's pov:
We were sitting there in silence waiting for Lucy to wake up "I'm sorry gentleman, but I'm afraid you have to go. Visiting hours are up. Gajeel and I nod and stand up. We walk out the door when we hear a quiet voice say "Natsu?" Gajeel and I look in the room and see Lucy sitting up right there crying.
Gajeel and I run up to her and hug her. The nurse calls in the doctor and he comes running in. "Lucy are you really awake right now?" Gajeel asked as he stroked Lucy's hair and she nodded. They were having their little sibling moment so I slowly backed away with a smile on my face and started to walk out "Hey, Dragneel!" I turn around to see Gajeel looking at me "ya?" I ask and he walks up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder "so? When are you and my sister going to go out?" He asks out of no where. I was in shock.. a lot of shock. My face started to heat up "W-w-what? What a-are you talking a-a-ab-about?!" I half yell and him and Lucy laugh "Gajeel stop that your being childish." Lucy says with a big smile on her face. "Did Levy set you up to this?" "WHAT!? No way bunny girl! I actually ship it!" Lucy laughs even harder "wow Gajeel! I didn't know you knew what ships were let alone actually fangirl over them! Your such a girl!"
After awhile of all three of us laughing we had to leave because of the visiting hour rule.
I got into my apartment and open the door. Once I got inside I looked around tiredly. I walk to my room and plop down on my bed. "I don't feel like going to school tomorrow... to much work"

Next morning
Lucy's pov:
I wake up in a hospital bed and lay there for a few minutes before moving around and looking out the window. What's the point in having a window on the top floor of the hospital when you can't see anything out of it while in this stupid bed? I stand up and walked to the window. "Hmm... that's bett-" I was cut off by a familiar voice "Lucy!? Why are you out of bed?!" I turn around and see Natsu rushing towards me. I giggle, but before I knew it I was lifted off my feet. "Lucy, you know what the doctor said. Your not to get up from the bed till Friday. Your still have four days." I sigh and roll my eyes as he sets me back on the bed "but I'm perfectly fi-" I was cut off my a sharp pain running through out my body. I put both hand over my mouth trying desperately not to scream, but I do anyway.

Natsu's pov:
I pick Lucy up and put her on the bed and started to scold her. She just laughed it off but then out of no where she started to scream. Oh shit! She's in pain! Damnit why can't she just listen to the doctors! I run into the hallway and yell for a doctor. Soon enough one comes and he gives Lucy some medicine to calm down the pain. "Miss Redfox! We told you, that you mustn't get out of bed" he also scolded her and Lucy nodded "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
After awhile of Lucy and I talking she asked something strange "Natsu?" I look at her "what's up?" She looked down and hesitated to speak "w... what happened... what happened to your parents? Why do you live alone?" I look away and all the memories of my parents came back.
"Well... my dad always saw me as a disgrace.. when I was born he went crazy for some reason. He beat my mom and I as I was growing up. It was my 5th birthday... I went to tell my mom and she was so happy for me"

Natsu your five years old! Look at you, your such a big boy now!

"My dad wasn't home at the moment so my mom backed me a cake and took me out to buy a few toys, but when we got home..."

Mommy! Look watch this!
Haha don't fall Natsu.
I won't!

"I walked inside and the first thing I saw was my dad standing there with a belt"

Daddy! Look what mommy bought me!
Why did you buy him such ridiculous toys?!
I-it's his birthday, he's five now.

"My mom was so scared and now that I think about it she saw this coming. It's all my fault if I just wouldn't have said anything"

Igneel, calm down!
HOW CAN I! YOU DISOBEYED MY ORDERS!
Daddy! It wasn't mommy's fault I asked her-
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

"He hit me over the head knocking me back and I hit a wall. He focused on my mom and then right before my eyes he started to hit her then..." Lucy put a hand on my shoulder "Natsu? You don't have to continue.. I understand" I shook my head "no.. I want you to be able to trust me. I just want you to know" she nods and let's me continue.

DADDY! STOP IT! YOUR HURTING HER!
Natsu! RUN! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! DONT LOOK BACK!

"My dad pulled a gun out and had it against her head"

Mommy loves you, Natsu.
MOMMY!

"My dad pulled the trigger and shot her. My mom.. my mom was killed right before me.. I couldn't save her! She was just gone!" I started to cry and Lucy pulled me in close and hugged me. "It's ok Natsu. I'm right here.. shhh." She patted and rubbed my head.
After a few minutes I sat back up and looked at Lucy. She smiled and wiped my tears away. "Do you still want to continue?" She asked and I nodded. She sat back and gave me all the time to collect my thoughts and I started again.

"I ran out of the house and I didn't look back like my mom said. I ran for hours and hours until it became dark. I didn't have anywhere to go. So I decided to face reality and go back home. When I got inside I didn't see my dad anywhere. I went into the living room and saw my Mom's dead body still laying there. I just couldn't look at her it was too painful. I looked around the house for my dad and when I found him he was dead on the bathroom floor.. he overdosed" Lucy rubbed my back as I sat there in silence "Natsu?" I look at her and she had tears going down her face. I shot up and wiped her tears away "damnit I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry" I say and she shakes her head "no it's ok. I'm just happy that you trust me enough to tell me all of this. Thank you, I promise I won't tell anyone" she said with a smile on her face and I reassuring smile appears on my face "I know you won't... Hey?" She looked at me "hm?" I look away "what happened you your parents- I mean like.. you and Gajeel seem to live alone and just you know.." she nods

"well when I was 4 my father passed away and my mom didn't remarry until I was 8 and by now you should know Gajeel and I... we aren't related biologically. He is one year older then me but in our grade because he failed 3rd grade. When I was 13 my mom became very ill. Gajeel thought of her as his real mom so he was also very sad when she passed away when we were in 8th grade. Soon after that when we were in 9th grade his father committed suicide while we were at school. So ever since then he lived by himself here and I moved in with my cousin Orga and his parents for almost two years and now I'm back. It wasn't as bad as yours but.. ya I have always been told that I had a good life and rich parents when in reality those people never knew they were actually dead."
I looked at her and after all that she still managed to be happy and lively... I envy her.
