Chapter 5- Do It
"Tell me Natsu," Lucy asked with widen eyes. It had been a few weeks after the topic of love and when Natsu left that day she was alone with her tainted thoughts, which could be considered dangerous at times, "how does one know they are in love?"
Natsu held a finger to his chin. "You get this fluttery feeling in your chest. You want to talk to the one you love everyday. You feel as if you need to protect them, and you are willing to risk everything for them. You should feel comfortable with the person in any situation and they should feel the same for you."
Lucy smiled, "do you experience that with Lisanna?" she asked curiously. Natsu pondered for a bit longer and shook his head, his pink hair following like an after image.
"No."
Lucy frowned, "so you are not in love with her?" she asked almost wishfully. Natsu shook his head, "I thought I told you?"
"Told me what?" she asked confused. Natsu sighed and looked towards his right to find the white paint of the flat wall chipping, after so many years of this hospital being built it was falling apart slowly. If someone stepped on the wood harshly it would creak as if crying and howling in pain.
"I found her kissing my best friend Gray," he handed Lucy his hand, "I got good punches on him when I saw him last week."
Lucy examined his hand noticing a light pink on his knuckles.
"Are you okay?"
"Physically? Yeah. Mentally," he looked directly into Lucy eyes, she could basically see the amount of sorrow and pain in his eyes, but she saw no regret. "I'm struggling."
Lucy hummed sadly as she carried his knuckles to her lips and gave them a soft kind kiss filled with her solicitous emotion.
"I'll be fine though," Natsu chuckled, "what's that thing you always said? 'Don't forget to smile?', after your favorite band 'Don't forget to smile now known as Queen."
Lucy kissed his knuckles again and let her soft lips travel up to his wrist, "thank you for remembering. You need to stay mentally stable to get me out of this...this..." Lucy said struggling to find the right word to describe the hospital.
"Hell hole?"
"Exactly!"
Natsu chuckled, "yep, I am the witness."
"What did you always say? Oh, 'there are perks to being the son of a doctor'."
Natsu laughed and Lucy joined after. His eyes lingered on Lucy's closed ones. After she opened her eyes and revealed his favorite brown color in the world he cleared his throat. And with a lick from his tongue onto his lips he spoke.
"God I want to kiss you."
"Then do it."
