Chapter 10- End

"Is all this really necessary?" Lucy questioned a her arms were up and a tailor was circling her.

"Yes it is, you need to make a good impression." Erza said as her phone started ringing, "I'll be right back, another client."

Lucy rolled her eyes. "Hey." She called out to the tailor.

The man looked up, "yes?"

"Do you think I have a chance of winning, since you heard Erza and me talking."

The tailor took a deep breath, "honestly?"

Lucy nodded, "yes."

"No, I do not."

...

"The case of Lucy Heartfilia Will now comense." A woman with a black gown said as she sat in a tall podium.

Lucy froze slightly and leaned towards Erza, "you didn't tell me It started today!" She whispered-Shouted.

Erza shrugged, "I didn't? Oh well." She then suddenly stood up, "I am Lucy's family lawyer, I am here to convince you that the defendant is not guilty."

Cana stood up, "I am here to convince you of the defendant guilty."

Lucy heard some whispers from behind her, "how could you be a family lawyer when there is no family?" Followed by a chuckle. Lucy wanted to stand up and punch the bastard that said that but she held it in, there were police officers anyway.

"Erza Scarlet, you mentioned about Lucy's living?" Cana questioned and she stood up.

Erza nodded, "yes, Lucy is living in poor conditions since she was nine. They feed her moldy bread, give her dirty water, she gets fed sometimes through a tube. Her clothes didn't fit her, the undergarments she received doesn't fit her, and people there reek of sickness."

Some jurors muttered and the judge slammed her hammer down, "as jurors you are not to be swayed by sympathy."

Lucy zoned out. She fears that sympathy is all she could really get out of these people. Yes her living conditions are poor but isn't that what a killer deserves?

...

Days later...

The arguments lasted days, today is the final day. The day they will figure out if Lucy was guilty or not. Or most likely she is guilty and they might take pity and only stuff her into a more better jail.

(I timed skipped because I have no idea what happens in court...)

"I find the defendant...guilty." She slams her hammer. Erza nodded and whispered into Lucy's hear, "I knew this will happened, the best case you get jail time."

"Lucy Heartfilia, due to your actions as a child I will here by declare you serve your time...by death penalty."

Lucy's eyes widen, "what?"

"You are all dismissed."

"Wait? What?" Lucy questioned. Erza sat there with widen eyes as well.

"I guess the jurors weren't swayed by pity whatsoever."

Lucy held onto Erza's arm. "S-so what does this mean?"

"You will be given death by lethal injection in three days." She stood up and dusted herself off, "Goodbye Lucy."

Lucy stood up as well, but her legs gave and she fell. "Wait please!" People walking tried to ignore and walked past her. "Please wait!"

Two cops picked her up. They started walking. "You are going back to the hospital FairyTail until your injection in three days."

Lucy felt tears stream down her face. She could taste the salty tears and feel the burning in her eyes.

"It's a shame a beautiful young woman has to die." The cop admitted, another cop nodded, "she's the same age as my daughter, I would never imagine her dying this way."

Lucy stayed silent as they stuffed her into their car.

"Look on the bright side." One cop said.

"You get anything you want for your last meal."

...

One day until lethal injection...

"Lucy please talk to me." Natsu begged. "I miss your voice."

"I-I'm going to die. Did you know that?" Lucy asked as she grabbed onto her knees.

"Yes, I saw it on the news." Natsu said with guilt, "but you're gonna be fine."

"How will you know?"

"Because I'll be there."

Lucy looked at Natsu confused, "what? How?"

Natsu held a grin, "there's perks to being the son of a doctor you know!"

Lucy giggled slightly and sniffed.

"I love you Natsu."

"I love you too Lucy."

...

Lucy was strapped onto a cold metal chair. A few moments ago she was given her last meal which was just simply waffles, her favorite. She asked them to make it exactly how her mother did, extra chocolate chips.

The people talked around her but Lucy was so scared and nervous they just sounded muffled.

Another lightly turns on and she winced as she wouldn't turn her head. Her eyes closed tightly.

Soon she felt the needle gently puncture into her skin and she let a tear fall from her eye.

She looked towards her right to see adults watching the long needle go inside her, she looked towards her left to see Natsu.

"Natsu?"

"Lucy? Are you feelings okay?"

"Natsu why are you here?"

"Hey stop talking to yourself."

Lucy felt the liquid go inside her. "What? You let him in here, let me speak to him."

"Who?"

Lucy nodded her head towards Natsu, "him."

The men looked towards were she nodded, but nobody was there.

One man looked down at his clipboard, "she's as insane as the judge thought." He chuckled slightly.

Lucy's eyes widen in realization.

Her eye lids became heavy as they injected another liquid into her.

"I-s there even a Dr. Dragneel?"

"There is, sometimes he comes here. But his son wasn't felling so good, he called out."

"Son?"

"Natsu Dragneel." He remembered. "Sweet kid, but when he was twelve he was diagnosed with cancer, not sure which one. He hasn't left his house in awhile."

Lucy let more tears fall, "o-oh.

Natsu Dragneel, the young boy that visited her at the age of ten. He never visited again, that only happened once. Her mind made him up, made up his teenage years up. He was fake...kind of. All those times she was talking to herself, that's why guards were always worried and kept an eye of her. That why Natsu was always allowed to see her. That's why Natsu always said the right things and could smooth talk his way out of anything. That why their personalities weren't so different.

That why he loved an insane person.

Her eyes fell completely and her heartbeat stopped.

"Time of death, 1:34pm."
