Atem, I'm scared...

A sad story... but a good ending

Normal POV~

It's been about a week or so of Yami's close call, he almost died on the spot but luckily Isis saved him, Anzu's punishment was also done in that week. She did suffer a lot, some people almost felt bad for her, but she deserved it. Atem felt a bit better now that Anzu was dead but that still didn't solve anything about Yami. Yami has been getting worse and worse each day, he has reached a stage that he can barely talk or even sit up. He's scared and worried.

"Atem.." Yami said not any higher than a whisper, as he lay on the bed Atem was getting ready to join him. Atem looked at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly, though Yami started crying

"Why are you crying? Does anything hurt?" Atem asked again gently as he walked up to Yami. Yami shook his head.

"Atem, I'm scared....I don't want to die.." Yami said, Atem sat down next to him.

"Beloved, you won't die. You will get through this" Atem said holding his hand

"But I can't feel anything anymore, I can't even move or sit up. It's hard talking. I'm just like a statue, It can't feel anything, can't talk, and can't move" Yami said, Atem started shedding some tears too.

"Don't call yourself that Yami, it's probably just a stage. Once you get all better you will be able to do all those things. I won't let you die" Atem said, he then pecked Yami's lips softly.

"Atem.. if I do die-" Yami started but Atem cut him off

"Don't say those words, you need your rest. Isis said so and I completely agree with her. Rest beloved" Atem said as he laid down next to Yami, holding him close. Yami said no more and shut his eye lids, letting sleep consume him.

The next day~

Yami awoke the next day with so much pain, so much pain he awoke with a loud scream. Atem awoke immediately hearing Yami's scream.

"Atem! It hurts! It hurts!" Yami screamed, clenching his heart. Isis heard the scream and came instantly with her equipment.

"What happened?" Isis said

"I don't know! I think his heart hurts" Atem said trying to calm Yami. Isis looked shocked

"This is...the final stage...determines if he will die or not.." Isis said, Atem looked at her pleadingly.

"But, you can help him right? I told him he won't die, he won't right?" Atem said, Isis shamefully shook her head

"I unfortunately can't my prince, I'm sorry. But he will live or die, I can't do anything about but stop the pain for a while with the medicine I gave you" Isis said, Atem gave her the medicine and prayed to the gods again, that Yami would live.

Three hours later~

"Atem.." Yami said

"Don't say anything, I don't want you losing your energy for speaking.." Atem said

"I don't think I can make it... I can feel my heart and breathing slowing down.." Yami said, Atem's eyes widened

"Yami, please don't do this.." Atem said, Yami looked at him

"Atem.. please promise me that you won't change because of this. I love you, and I will even in the after-life.." Yami said as he closed his eyes, his breathing got even slower.

"Yami! Yami! Please! I love you too! Don't leave me!" Atem said. But, Yami took his last breath, and there, his body was left lifeless.

"No...Yami...please..." Atem said, he was breaking inside. Without Yami, he was nothing. He place his lips onto Yami's cold ones and gave him a small kiss.

A year later passed and Atem was about to be crowned Pharaoh, he kept his promise to Yami and did not change. There was a hole In his heart that will never be filled again, only Yami could fill that hole and no one else. At age 21, Pharaoh Atem died of a cause no one knew of, some people said he committed suicide because of a broken heart, others say he died of being in a battle that he didn't survive.

In the heavens, Atem and Yami protected Egypt from above, they saw some difficulty's, and some successes. The hole in Atem's heart was whole again, he was happy that he was with Yami after all those years of suffering. The thing that relieved them most was that Anzu was in hell, and she didn't like it down there.

Hey guys...I'm sorry that this story was so, so, so short. I just.. had to end this story. My ideas were running out for this story, and I think Yami has had enough suffering in other story's, I think he at least needs to not be tortured in one story of mine, so I decided to end this five chapter story. I hope that you're not disappointed in me, but I did not want to put this as "Discontinued", it would not feel...complete. Don't worry, there will be one last chapter in this story even thought this is the end, it will be titled "Epilogue". Again, I am sorry for this super mega short story, but I can promise you my other story's will be longer than this, really long. Anyway...
