The door opened to reveal a man with a big build. He was holding sets of armor. As soon as he saw the door open, he pushed it open and went over to my bed. He laid the armor down on my bed in separate piles, then looked up and asked, "Lighter or heavier?" I thought a moment, then asked, "Any advice?" The man looked at me smiling. He started laughing and said, "My advice is to wear a lighter armor in the areas you can defend easily. Wear medium armor in the areas you can only partially defend, and wear heavy armor where you can't defend at all." "Why a set up like that?" I asked. The man looked at me and said, "So you have mobility. Any other way and you would be pulverized." The man handed me a book. It was brown and plain, but worn, probably moose hide. I looked up to ask what it was, to see the door shut. I sighed and set the book on my night stand. I turned my attention to the armor. I thought about the mans advice and took it, but not completely. As I touched the heavy armor it felt like ice. The texture was like moose hide. I slid on the chest plate, vambraces, and greaves. The vambraces were thicker and had a solid piece of metal on them, but it had a purple tint to it. The greaves where a little heavier then expected, but not too heavy. I placed the light armor everywhere else. Then I headed out of my room door to the hall. I tried not to get nervous. Once I reached the end of the hall, a woman wearing armor and a mask stops me. She tells me that she is supposed to take me to armory. As we walked, I noticed multiple people wearing armor and masks. Every mask was different, so I asked my guide, "Why do a lot of you wear masks?" She turned toward me and said, "You'll be told about that when you select one. If not, ask when you get it." "I'm Brooklynne, by the way." She sounded frustrated. "Why is your mask a cat?" I asked. As we continued walking, she never responded. Once we reached where we were going, Brooklynne stopped and gestured toward the door. I walked in and then turned to say thanks, but the door was shut, and she wasn't there anymore. I turned around to see a huge assortment of weapons and masks. A man came from a small wooden door in the far left of the room. He looked up and gestured towards the masks and said, "You need one of these, and a weapon." I looked at the masks and couldn't decide on one, so I selected a heavy metal depressed looking demon mask and slid it on. It took a moment to get used to the mask, but as soon as I did, the mask gripped onto my face. I ripped it off and looked at the inside. It had tentacles reaching out, trying to reach my face. The man was laughing and said, "It's suppose to happen, just let it." I stared at him, and slowly lifted it to my face. As soon as it was close enough, the tentacles reached out and pulled the mask to my face. It latched onto my skin, pulling itself on, and fused itself to me with a burning sensation. I restrained myself from pulling it off. Once the pain stopped, I opened my eyes. Everything was a reddish color. Once I got used to it, I turned toward the weapons. There was a huge assortment of weapons. I started considering what to decide on for my weaponry. After thinking a while I selected a dagger, a broadsword, and two throwing knives. Then I headed to the gates. While waiting, I decided to study my sword. I unsheathed it and began examining the work of the sword. It had something engraved on it, but I couldn't read the language, so I decided to return it to its sheathe. After a while longer of waiting, the gates started to open. Torch light started spilling out of the crack in the gate. As soon as it opened wide enough for me to move through it, I stepped out of the gate.

Sorry that was short. I decided I wanted to work on the fight a little more, so I put out this tease. I hope you enjoyed it!
