Tell Her

Sometimes I search for the wide-eyed romantic -

The one that made my heart yearn for love

And search with a wandering gaze like an old antic.

The invincible soul that believed in the above,

In the stars, moon, heaven and higher.

The one that made my blood pump,

Gave me hope to rise like fire,

And to push into the unknown with a fearless jump.

I don't know where she's gone,

But sometimes I feel her.

I feel she's fallen into a cage like a hopeless pawn,

Hooked and brought in by a lure.

Tell her to fight, tell her to smile.

Tell her I love her, that it'll be alright.

Although it has been a while,

Tell her the day comes after the night.
