The Heart - #1. The Shooting Star
A short poem about how a young girl's heart wants nothing more than love. In circumstances when one's needs are tested, a child's heart knows better than an adult's mind. A small poem to convey that sometimes, all you have to do is ask your heart and believe in its decisions.

_______________________________________The little girl prayed each night.
Listened to her mother,
Her father and her sister. All she wanted was a little wish
to come true
Had always wanted their lives
to not go askew.Holding onto her little teddy
She said her prayers
Just as her mother left the room
Her mind became frayer. There was no question
What she wanted.
To never be like her father,
Her mother or her sister.Watching the brawls,
The frays,
She wished upon that shooting star,
never in her heart, or mind,
to start a war.Wanting peace,
The only feeling that she could not
experience, in those tough days.
Felt on her face, the breeze. That came,
from the open window.
Held her breath and shut her eyes.
Just as the voices hit a crescendo.Nothing new, she thought.
But wished yet,
That her mother,
her father and her sisterWould stop the fight,
For something so petty.
For something that didn't matter,
when compared to them.
Of her, what would become? If they didn't stop this,
Would she have all of them?
Her sister,
her mother and her father? For in the world of the little girl,
It was only her family,
Not the property,
Not the divorce,
and not the sister, or herself.
