       *Three years later*

I was sweating and panting as I hit the punching bag repeatedly. "Stupid...stupid...MY GOD...I'M SO STUPID."  I thought hitting the punching bag harder with each echo of the word, "stupid", inside my head.

Even though I didn't want it to, the scene that had just happened kept playing in my head.

Dauntless are supposed to be brave right? Yeah...tell everyone else that when they saw me get pushed off the train by Elza Victor, Dauntless's number one snooty "biotch".

Sure, I admit that I probably looked like an idiot, tumbling out of the train and down the hillside that we were riding along. But that didn't mean everyone had to laugh their behinds off and leave me in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, the hills weren't too far away from the Dauntless compound so I jogged back. Unluckily for her, Elza was going to get her ass kicked by me and my knee-high converse.

“ALL DAUNTLESS REPORT TO THE PIT.” The announcer declared over the PA system, wrenching me out of my thoughts of revenge on Elza. I sighed, picked up my towel and wiped the sweat on my face. I braced myself for laughter as I walked down to the pit, but thank god everyone was looking at Tobias, one of my fellow trainers. Trainers get chosen for being the best in their year, and of course I beat out everyone. I took my place next to Tobias as he was talking.

“—we get to host the 3rd Quarter Quell of this year. Now, the rules are rules. We must send in twice the number of demigods, two from each god.”

Everyone groaned. Demigods were rare as it is, but sending them off to kill each other? Cruel. I knew I was going to get chosen, being the only other child of Poseidon. My brother, Percy, surprisingly chose Candor.

“The tributes are to be chosen tomorrow so I expect everyone to be there, even you mortals,” Tobias continued. “Demigods must be prepared if chosen and have to be willing to expect death.”

Jeez. He didn’t have to put the truth out there like that. What’s his problem anyways? I heard his girlfriend got killed but he can lighten up.

Tobias looked at me. “Would you like to add anything Arizona?”

“Hmm? Um…yeah. I would like to say that I believe that all people should get a chance to get killed off in the arena. Especially people named Elza Victor.”

Everyone stared at Elza, who was starting to turn bright red.

“Ahem,” Tobias interrupted. “Everyone, time to go to bed and demigods, REMEMBER TO GET REST FOR TOMORROW’S CHOOSING!” He bellowed and nudged me to follow them.
