Vio's Point  of View:

"The two of you look similar," said a feminine voice.

"Yeah, we don't know....we might be related? It's a long story and we're all three hundred percent sure we aren't," Green said. "We just look a lot alike."

The voice came from a cloaked individual, staring intently at me. Or at least facing me, I felt like I could feel her gaze. "You must be Vio," she said to me.

I closed my book and stood up. "Yes. Who might you be?"

"Mei Kagami, but you can call me Kyoko..." She took a deep breath and for a minute, I thought I could see her face. "I'm sorry, I just..." The rest of her words ended in a mumble, it all sounded muffled.

"Sorry, but...I can't hear you from beneath that hood. Could you speak up?"

"Yes, of course, sorry...it is rather warm out here, I might as well just take it off." She pulled the hood off and stared at me with dark purple eyes while she took her gloves off.

Her skin looked like a pale white, except...parts of it were a dark purple, similar to veins in rock that will be of a different mineral, and usually a different color. But she had multiple veins, all over her skin was a black-purple color, but it was...glassy looking, and it matched her eyes. The inside of her cloak was noticeable gold and her hair was black at the roots, though the rest of her hair was a violet color. The color scheme seemed to match the Dark Mirror, that was my first thought.

"You wouldn't happen to know anything about the Dark Mirror, would you?" she asked politely.

I blinked. Was she actually asking that?

Her clothes were black too, I noticed, a simple black dress with a V neck and a circle skirt that fell above her knees. I stared at her in the eyes....

...and I saw myself holding a mallet.

     "Who are you?" I demanded.

"I'm looking for someone. Someone you know," she said. "You wouldn't happen to know where he is?"

"That doesn't answer my question," I spat out.

"I'm talking about Shadow Link. I'm trying to find him. Something led me to you, what is that?"

My hand was in my  pocket before I knew it and in my fingers was a shard of glass.

"That must be it!" She said cheerfully. I was in a trance. I couldn't look away from her eyes, playing my own betrayal over and over again, stabbing Shadow in the back, again and again.

"You tried to break it," she sang. "You nearly killed him."

I snapped out of whatever trance I was in. "Shut up."

"Well, it's true, I'm not trying to provoke you, I'm just stating the facts." She rolled her eyes.

"Green!" I shouted. "Green?" He was nowhere to be seen.

All of a sudden, Kyoko fell into a brief, flawless curtsy. "I'm a servant of Veran's and I work with Shadow Link. He sent me after you to convince you...I'm sure you know what of."

"My answer is no, it will always be no," I responded. "Tell him I said no."

"He will not take no as an answer," she said. "It just makes him more determined...and angrier."

"Green!" I shouted again. "Where the fuck did you go?!"

"It's easier, you know," she said. "To just listen. To let yourself fall like that. Where I come from, fall usually means death."

"Good for you," I responded. I reached for my sword...

...but someone behind me snatched it off my back before me.

"...but this type of fall is worse," Kyoko continued. "It's the death of your morals...it doesn't take your life, it just takes your will to live."

"That's enough, Kyoko," someone said, and I didn't want to believe it was him, I didn't want to hear his voice.

Kyoko looked at me sadly. "I'm sorry, I had to, Vio."

"Kyoko, I said that's enough. Shut it." I felt a hand on my waist. "You're gonna scare him away."

"Maybe that's what I'm trying to do."

"No, you're just trying to make me angry." His other hand went to my left wrist. "I'm not letting him get away."

"You have by far, the most twisted, fucked up morals I have ever seen," she said.

     "Thank you."
