Blue's Point of View:
"Oh, no...I'm still him. He's just--I'm just being controlled by someone. Everything is still virtually the same, though. Nothing's changed from your last adventure, has it? I'm still your enemy, you still want me dead, and I still am planning how to kill each one of you." He grinned.
Vio set his jaw and glared at the paler Shadow Link. "Then who is controlling you?"
"Veran! Sorceress of Shadows!"
"And who the fuck is she?!" I shouted, trying not to be as paralyzed as I was when Vio and Shadow Link had been so close.
"Sorceress of Shadows, you idiot!" He glared in my direction. "A loyal servant to Koume and Kotake, the mothers of the Gerudo King...Ganon."
Vio said an audible, "oh, fuck, Twinrova."
Shadow Link chuckled and got closer to Vio. "You may be a useless hero, but I missed you, Vio. I know you missed me too, Vi. I just need your help. You aren't going to make me fight you again and serve Veran all alone, are you?"
I realized that Vio actually looked tempted to...get closer...to Shadow Link, despite the fact that he still had a sword in his hand, they both did. It was like even though he was potentially dangerous and could easily hurt Vio, he didn't care so long as he was with Shadow, I assumed that was because he felt guilty.
"Come on, Vio, be smart about this," he said softly.
"You literally just admitted you were being controlled by someone," he said. "I am being smart about this."
"Then don't be intelligent, be good, you'd think as one of the heroes of the heroes of the Four Sword, that would be something you know how to do..." He got closer and pressed his hand on his cheek, the rest of us standing like the action was hostile and Shadow Link were actually about to claw off his face or something. "I don't want to be alone, Vi...I want you."
I don't know when, but at some point, their relationship stopped being platonic. Shit, Shadow Link even seemed to be wearing bedroom eyes. I knew he set off my gaydar.
Vio finally snapped out of it and raised his sword, slashing again at Shadow Link.
He stayed where he was, looking down at the cut on his chest as if it were a small problem he was bleeding. "That's a shame, Vio. It really is. I do love you, my darling traitor, so I promise your death will be long and agonizing if you don't change your mind in the next five seconds and get your ass over here."
Vio glared defiantly back at him, sword drawn, but he visibly stiffened at the "I do love you" part.
Shadow Link laughed at him. "Do you think they don't know, Vi? They're very much aware, I'm sure, you are wearing purple, your name is Violet...I'm going to love killing you, Vio! I guess--since I'm in a somewhat good mood, I'll let you live a little longer, but you better think about this conversation before we meet again, because if you haven't changed your mind then, I'm going to beat the shit out of you all! You should try and talk the other heroes into it, Vi...or you're just gonna end up helping me kill them all!" And with a laugh, the bastard was gone.
There was only silence for a minute. Vio stood, eyes staring at the ground, hair in front of his eyes. I could barely see it, but his face was slightly flushed.
Green coughed. "We were...heading to the castle...are we still going to do that?"
Vio remained silent when we walking there, but I did notice that Zelda was talking to him. He barely responded with nods and glances,
"I bet it's the hair. I'm not too fond of him, but...it's some fine hair...and the eyeliner. And the boots..." I overheard her say.
Vio gave her a small smile.
For some reason, I started talking with him. "Hey, Bookworm."
He didn't answer.
"I'm gay for Green...and Red," I admitted. He froze and looked at me. "You're not the only queer in the group."
Princess Zelda gave me a soft smile. "I was just telling Vio that myself."
I frowned. "You're gay for Red and Green?" I whispered.
She giggled. She didn't know I was genuinely confused. "No, that he isn't the only...person who is not straight." She blushed.
"Would now be a bad time to come out as gay?"
"...I'm bi."
Vio really wasn't the only queer in the group. I wasn't either. And Zelda was a person who was not straight.
"It's just.." he said all of a sudden. "I didn't know myself. And I spent so much time with him..." he trailed off and then started over. "I witnessed first hand...so many horrible things and way too many were his doing, but...he really could have been good. He was just misguided...and lonely...and scared. I could have helped him, like a hero should. I feel so..." He shook his head.
"I'd say I would have done the same thing you did, but I woulda got myself killed beforehand, so..."
He smiled at me.
