Shalum in Japan

Chapter 1

It was just a normal day for 17 year old Shawn Peter Raul Mendes (pretend it's pre-fame). He had a girlfriend at the time, Lauren (a/n: Lauren was the name of his prom date, which is why I used her as his girlfriend). Lauren LOVED the band 5 Seconds of Summer (5sos), and had talked Shawn's ear off about them for months.

So, for Lauren's birthday in May, Shawn got her VIP tickets for a 5sos concert that September. Over the next couple of months leading up to the concert, Shawn gradually realized that his relationship with Lauren had been a bit one sided. He had always noticed her looking at other guys when they were together, and she never really seemed to want to be with him, he loved her but was unsure as to whether she loved him.

So as September came, time for the concert crept up. Shawn was still with Lauren, but was not the happiest person in a relationship. But he liked 5sos, too, not as much as Lauren, but he could bop to their songs.

The day of the concert had arrived and the couple had put their unhappiness aside for the night so they could just have a fun night together at the concert.

Shawn picked up Lauren and she was the most excited he had ever seen her, but really she treated him more as a friend that night, which Shawn was a little upset about.

They arrived and the concert began shortly after. They had amazing seats and had a blast as they both sang along to the young band's songs. As the night went on, it came time for Shawn and Lauren to meet the band.

As they walked backstage and the time approached for their meet and greet, a sudden feeling of excitement washed over Shawn. He was more excited than he thought he was, and when he looked over only to see his girlfriend on her phone texting another guy he did not know, he realized he wanted something more.
